Hi all, here's a quick look at the Super Robot Chogokin Choryujin and Key of Victory Set #3 Dimensional Pliers. I was really hoping that HoRyu and EnRyu would be released before Choryujin did. Now I wonder if they will ever release the duo at all. That said, I’m glad Bandai released the Choryujin with the ability to do “Symmetrical Out” for some mix match fun with Gekiryujin when he rolls out. Symmetrical Docking!! CHORYUJIN!!!! Double Guns! Tonfa Choryujin comes 3 variations of his chest plate. The smallest one is for making additional poses that require his shoulders to be closer together, like for holding the Eraser Head. For the Shield pose you will need to tack on the additional rifle extensions for added length. Mirror Coating-equipped Shield plate Eraser Head! For some reason, I can’t seem to get the right hand to hold the Eraser Head properly, even if I use the one with the peg for the removable hole in the Eraser Head. As a result, I’m not sure if Choryujin can hold the Eraser without the support stand. Eraser Head 999! A Word of CautionThe fist pegs are a new design, swapping fists can be a pain. When I first tried it, the other end came out with the fist, so I tried removing from that end. It resulted in the peg itself flipping out and flying across the room. Lol. I spent a half hour searching frantically for the darn thing ! Lesson learned… when swapping the fists (or removing the fist peg), do it in a closed area. Trust me, it’s very hard to find the peg due to the tiny size if it starts flying off again. I’m just happy they used light-colored plastic and not black. Otherwise it would’ve been much harder to find. Super Robot Chogokin Gaogaigar Key of Victory Set 3 – Dimensional Pliers Even though the Dimensional Pliers don’t transform into their individual components, it does have an alternate mode. Parts swapping required. Dimensional Pliers! Tool Connect!! The Pliers plug into the fist pegs, so you have to take out the fists prior to connecting. I recommend inserting each end section of the Pliers into GGG’s forearms first and then connecting the larger, heavier half of the Pliers. Prior to the arrival of GoldyMarg, Gaogaigar used the Dimensional Pliers for executing the Goldion Hammer final attack. Gold

Super Robot Chogokin Key To Victory Weapon Set 2Weapon Background:
Star GaoGaiGar Components: GaiGar (Cyborg Guy + Galeon) + DrillGao + LinerGao + StealthGao II
Result of Final Fusion with StealthGao II in place of the original StealthGao. StealthGao II incorporates an optional "Space Booster" that allows GaoGaiGar to remain in space for much longer operational periods.
This apparatus consists of a nacelle attached to the end of either wing edge and a bladed wing assembly attached to its upper surface. (The Space Booster can also be used in atmosphere, though any potential drawbacks of doing this are unknown.) Either nacelle on the Space Booster is "leashed" with one "Phantom Ring." While the exact mechanics are unknown, these rings are remote-controlled, self-propelled units that detach and position in front of GaoGaiGar's arms, enhancing their attacks as follows:
Broken Phantom: Phantom Ring-directed Broken Magnum with greater control in space and a wider effective damage radius upon enemy contact. Protect Wall: Phantom Ring-boosted Protect Shade with a wider area of protection. It can also use the GGG-built Gatling Driver, which bends (rather, spirals) space to create either an interfering spatial field, or a "gravity lens" through which energy attacks can be focused to a sharp point. When equipped with a Gatling Driver on its left arm and a Dividing Driver on its right, Star GaoGaiGar is further capable of using the Double-Head Driver technique, used to create an exit within pocket dimensions that use properties of Dividing Energy. Star GaoGaiGar can still interface with Goldymarg to use the Goldion Hammer in this mode.
Final Words: In four words: I love the set! The Stealth Gao II being added on to the SRC Gaogaigar really beefs it up, making the robot look bigger and more bad ass than it was previously. The attachment is a bit back heavy though but it does come with its own stand; which is a plus in my book, which helps in posing/displaying the figure.
The effect changes for when the boosters are active is what, IMHO, makes having the attachment cool altho I am worried about the part swapping since they are attached via a small peg to a small hole. Continuous part swapping may eventually cause the peg to break so I display mine with the green translucent effect part. It's cooler that way.
The gatling driver is a nice addition but since its rarely used in the series, it's a nice to have but not really something I'm super happy to have. It looks great though when attached and partnered with the dividing driver.
Lastly, the phantom rings. I have the same worries with them as I do the green effect parts for the boosters. The effect parts with them also attach via 4 small pegs to 4 slots. While the plastic does feel thick enough, I've seen many a toy in the past that's prone to breakage with the way you remove/put on the part so take extra care when posing this with Broken Phantom/Protect Wall.
Overall, it's a great set. Awesome add-on to an awesome figure. Top it off with Set 1 and you again have one bad ass King of Braves proudly standing on your shelf. Thanks for looking! ;D

Super Robot Chogokin Gaogaigar Ver.2.0 I finally got my hands on the second version GGG from the SRC line. Luckily, Bandai made some changes to the box art so you can somewhat distinguish the first from the second version. First version on the left. The 2.0 box front has GGG looking up and the text “Yuusha-Oh” is now in bolder font. Top view - those distracting lines across GGG’s face have been removed. Figure comparison. – First version on the left. On first glance, the figures look the same. But the 2.0 ‘s Drill knees are now more “golden” as opposed to dark orange of the first version (sorry, the colors don’t show on the pics). Also, the 2.0 GGG’s white parts are more uniformed in white. The original (on the left now in this pic) has some parts that have a slightly yellowish shade of white, particularly in the biceps and the rear sections, when compared to his thighs and back. Of course, the most important reason to get the 2.0 is that the 2.0 now has fixed joints, particularly in the shoulders (joint does not pop out so easily now) and the important groin joint. The first version’s groin joints were somewhat floppy, making GGG unable to hold forward kick poses and worse, a bit unstable, especially when you equip the Stealth Gao II / Star GGG parts. These problems are non-existent in the 2.0. The 2.0 can hold the forward kick pose no problem and feels more stable compared to the first version. Gold

Been awhile since I last logged in... Thanks Gold! Awesome review of your Star GGG as well. I agree that having the Stealth Gao II makes GGG v1.0 very back heavy though. Congrats on ver 2.0! Is that available locally? I want an upgrade! ;D
