I just pray there will be a Grendizer in this new line. I'm kinda losing hope that they will ever release a new Grendy for the original SOC line.

This line looks promising, I hope they are a bit taller than the regular SOC solid figures.

Thanks to Toyworld Hk and Quinjester over at RobotJapan. Click to view larger pics. First wave release date is scheduled for early August for Mazinger and his weapons set (seperate release), late August for Great Mazinger and late October for Alt Eisen. The line looks to be for poseability and not for transformation Others slated for release are -Reideen the Brave -God Reideen (appeared only in the last episode of 1990's Reideen the Superior, a Gatchaman-styled Anime) -Dygenguar -Aussenseiter -Cybaster -Gear Fighter Dendoh -Knight Gear Ogre (also from Gear Fighter Dendoh) Sentai characters like Shinkenoh (from Shinkengers, 2009) and Sun Vulcan (Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan, 1981) also appear in this line. The figures will have diecast, but as to how much diecast proportionally remains to be seen. The price isn't half bad though. ngeekhiong.blogspot.com/2010/05/tamashii-nations-super-robot-chogokin.htmlPersonally, the ones on my "got to have list" are Alt Eisen, Cybaster and Gear Fighter Dendoh and Ogre. The scale roughly fits into the SOC line (Dendoh is listed at 24.5 Meters tall, roughly the same height as Great Mazinger's official height). The only real downside to this line is that the figures are 14Cm tall only, roughly 5.5 Inches tall (Gx-45 Shin Mazinger is 6.5 inches so we're talking a real scaled down line here) The coolest part I think is they're planning to release the Photonic research Labs - Mazinger's base (See pics)! I also editied the title of the thread to fit the new name of the line. Gold

it would be nicer if they could make Dendoh at the same height of Max Factory Godannar = epic battle pose
but still im kinda disappointed with Bandai on this one. why can't they just make this on their SOC line? is it because sales are getting stale?

mmm this line is interesting. would the mazingers be roughly as tall as their revoltech Super robot counterparts (e.g. the Getters)?

checking the photos from ngeekhiong, these are very close if not the same to revoltech line heights. roughly P1850 a pop plus shipping and handling, it would indeed be a line worth checking for.

the line's looking solid so far.
hope the die cast content is sufficient. the translation of the article gold posted said "acceptable weight"...

More pics of the new figures from the Super Robot Chogokin presentation at Bandai HQ: ngeekhiong.blogspot.com/2010/05/tamashii-nations-super-robot-chogokin_19.htmlIf you're familiar with Bandai's Robot Tamashii line, they should roughly be the same height basing it on how they're displayed with the Soul Act stands. The diecast content may be limited to just the feet which is the same practice they did with the SH Figurarts line. I'm basing this assumption on the pricing as the prices for Mazinger and Great Mazinger is quite near to more recent releases for either the RD or SHF line. Great thing about this line is that they can be mixed with their Real Robot counterparts for a great Super Robot Taisen display. ;D

They just love milking the line instead of something new.

Here're some insights into the toys tamashii.jp/special/t_chogokin/topics/index.php?eid=000101. Decent heft and lots of diecast 2. Good detail 3. Ratchet joints 4. Elbows and knees can bend 120degrees (whoa..) 5. Shoulder joints have additional covers to hide the joints (?) 6. The abdomen can be pulled out for greater range of poseability. 7. The hoverpileder can be removed (?) it is only 13mm in size. 8. The neck can look up 60 degrees for flight mode. Looks promising. Thanks to Gasha over at PTK forums for the link and original post.
