Not much reviews yet since this was just released yesterday. But here is one: nzgamer.com/pc/reviews/1134/starcraft-ii-wings-of-liberty.htmllooks like it is good. majority of the negative side (from what i read so far) is the price. and who knows how much more they will charge for the other 2 future releases...

SC2 is a trash for me now that I've finished the game in normal..I mean no skirmish? that's the only reason I bought this game which totally disappoints me..no more lan game??? that sucks..everyone know we pinoys love lan games more than battle.net..don't know what went into blizzard's head to remove that feature from the franchise..and lastly no other playable factions?? I mean brood war was awesome due to the fact that each faction has a story mode..but this one just sucks so much..the Protoss side mission isn't even good enough to deal with since it's only few missions...how about the Zerg? we didn't even know how the hell Kerrigan went back to life... so to say, this game is an epic fail for those who wants Lan and Skirmish..Blizzard just went to waste a good game when they can actually make this a much better game and not a 1 sided game.. if this game was created with thefull function like the old SC, I know most DOTA players here in our place will turn back and play starcraft again since they've been looking forward to this game..but that'll be impossible since this game doesn't feature multiplayer unless you have battle.net account..

I say when you buy it just make the most of it. I'm enjoying the game so far. ocassional lags and freezes but that doesn't really faze me into not playing it again

i think overall that was an anti-piracy move. Correct me if im wrong but i think the license key can only be registered ONCE for battle.net. if for some reason, the same license was registered again (hence piracy), the server will not accept it.
they probably thought of the LAN feature as something they "can live without" compared to "profit". and speaking of profit, as we all know, they are going to release the other 2 clans in the future. that i think is really outrageous!
anyway, i dont have a SC2 yet. still saving for a new laptop first.

well..I won't be getting the two releases anymore..it's just meaningless to waste money for something you can't play with your friends like before..

well..I won't be getting the two releases anymore..it's just meaningless to waste money for something you can't play with your friends like before.. Well you can blame it on the fans where Blizzard got some the ideas for the improvements and so on and so forth... The other two titles are basically expansions of this game with the Zerg and Protos s respectively, remember the original game? Only this time the campaign for every faction is distributed to 3 titles... According to Wiki (thanks to Wikipedia, this is not of my writing) "There is also a major concern that a professional scene will not develop without the ability to play over a LAN.[121] The reason for this is that there is a latency delay between commands issued and game response when played online. LAN greatly reduces this delay and allows for much finer control over in-game units. Currently, Blizzard has no plans to support LAN play, putting the future of professional StarCraft II in question."Personally I can't get this title even if I wanted to because I have and old system and OS... Hopefully I can get a new one next year...

Ganethey maybe expansions..but to see that it' might eat more than 5gigs..I would rather pass...and besides..the skirmish is also removed so learning the countermeasures for each faction is hard..if blizzard will give at least the skirmish back, I would gladly get it..I will just wait if blizzard will give something that will make me like the game again..I don't care about how good thier graphics is since illusion had already beaten up most games when it comes to 3D rendering way back years ago..what I'm looking for is the good old fun on playing with my friends..

I feel your pain... Blizzards' move is a big question specially when they said they followed the fanbase requests and comments. We all know that fans down always know what they want and some don't realize what the majority wants. They either do something about it or let their followers look for other titles... Time will come when they will offer Starcraft 2 as a Battlechest and repair the damage to regain back the fans... or not...

Blizzard would care only for PAYING fans, anyways. whether they lose all the sales and popularity in the philippines, i think they wouldn't give a d**n in anyway possible because it will not affect them.
Their target mainly the big rich paying countires like UK, Koreans, -- g9 countries, sad to say, We are not included. But i truly hope, in the future... ;D

Well, we can't blame Blizzard to do such things. Blame those who makes pirated copies. Because of them, most game companies went to do some drastic measures. Gane: Aw. The expansions will be a campaign for each other race just like SC1? @_@... I wish they'll continue the story.... Reynor hasn't solved what Zeratul showed him. And the Zelnaga is still lurking.

Yup the pirates are to blame, but sadly it's also a lingering problem that they couldn't address properly since most international laws do not allow some sort of anti-piracy softwares included in the games and movies. Why? Because; some argued that these programs will limit the games practicality to players, abuse by the manufacturers and possible gateway i.e. trojan... I'm partly sure but you can check Wiki for a more accurate detail about anti-piracy softwares in games and movies. This is also why they couldn't do anything more than what they have already in use to protect original movies and audio cd's and dvd's... And yeah the next two installments are expansion campaigns similar to "Brood Wars" but will only concentrate on one particular faction... The story will go on until the third installment and probably the conclusion to the whole saga... As I mentioned, if you don't want to brood (used as a verb ) over whether to get this game now... you can wait for the possible and inevitable Battle Chest collection after the release of the third installment... just my two cents... ;D

Since I managed a whole new system that can be updated to what the heck for a couple more years I didn't pass up the chance of playing old faves.
Star Craft 2
For those who loved this title for it's entirety I personally think it's worth the wait. All the glorious time playing SC1 was relived and then some.
I'm not much into skirmish and LAN games, I enjoy the good old story modes. They made such a compelling story to follow and I just might do that...
I have 3 RTS faves when they came out, Star Craft, Command and Conquer and Total Annihilation. By far I still like Star Craft 2 over C&C 3 or the recent TA titles... C&C shows its age while TA became tedious...

Sweeeet! Thanks Gane! Finally managed to beat the "Left 2 Die" on 4 days brutal achievement custom game the other day. Whew! I think that's the hardest challenge in the game! After beating it, I went back and beat the "All in" stage again on brutal, it was a cakewalk compared to Left 2 Die ! Dang! ;D Gold
