For those who don't know it yet Rankin-Bass' Thundercats was one of the first "anime" for American audiences (not the other way around) along with its other title "SilverHawks" and the later series like "Tiger Sharks" etc. Pacific Animation Corp. a Japanese studio (somehow connected to Studio Ghibli and Bones...) did the animation, sorry for the confusion (I had them confused with the animation company that did Bionic Six). Currently there are no information on the WWW about them so... meh... So it's also fitting to find the new Thundercats 2011 as anime for American audience... I will not discuss about the toys because I don't have any from the old LJN toyline but am wishing and hoping to see Bandai's SHFiguarts come out with their version... So here's Thundercats 2011 for you... Advisory
This is not the original Thundercats series we loved to watch, but probably one that is arguably one of the best reintroduction of the characters to new and younger audiences.

Cheers!

I just managed to grab the premier episode (1 & 2) titled The Sword of Omens & Ancient Spirits of Evil respectively, and here's what I came up with: - This is almost a retelling of their Thundercats Universe in Thundera and not Third Earth... - Some characters are not who they are as individuals in the original series, - Mumra is not from Third Earth, - The Trojan Horse idea was brilliant and it also shows that not all reptiles are the same, - The new series is a keeper if you disagree then may the spirit of Jaga compel you, - Snarf purrs and not speak or even "Snarf"... I'm lost in words ATM so I'll go watch ep 3 for more Cats... Ho!!! Oh and here's hoping for a movie... Warner Bros. did have plans for a CGI movie slated for 2012, but no definite date or if it will even be released... hold your horses though, this Lion-O feels a lot more immature than the 2011 animated version... splashpage.mtv.com/2011/02/14/thundercats-movie-footage-cgi-lion-o-vs-slithe/

Panthro comes to save the day!!! Episode 4 is out and 5 is coming this 19th which will probably revolve around Panthros' backstory...
Anyway just an FYI for those who are hesitant to join the pack... Thundercats 2011 uses the same or similar music intro from the original minus the vocals... it's short but unlike other series (Voltron Force/He-man) they kept the original thankfully and since the pack is not yet complete, it is presumed that the opening sequence will not be completed as yet... but then again it's probably just me...

Yup, cameos galore in episode 7. Surprised to see the Silverhawk's villain, Mon-Starr pictured on Mumm-Ra's monitor. While the Tigersharks clan looks very much like Mako, the leader of the Tigersharks in the Comic Strip cartoon. Could spin-offs be in the making?

While the Tigersharks clan looks very much like Mako, the leader of the Tigersharks in the Comic Strip cartoon. Could spin-offs be in the making? Thanks for the pics... ( I'm still on the process of getting episode 8, my old net cafe moved out and there's notice where they moved too... they're a bit more expensive but the service is the best...) According to that episode, the Thundercats, Silverhawks and Tigersharks are in the same Universe. I don't know if they will do with the " Cross-overs" because Lion-O's (SPOILER ALERT)new mission is getting all the species together to fight an old and common foe in the name of Mumm-Ra ( The Ever Living.... mwa ha ha ha ha.... sorry got too intense there... LOL) but would that also mean Mumm-Ra getting Mon-Star to join him? I'm getting ahead of myself, let's just wait and see... We could possibly get to see a new Silverhawks series and the Tigersharks get their very own... IF the new Thundercats do well in the ratings game much like the original series... Here's some videos to remind us of the good old days... I like the Silverhawks intro the best... Just remembered this: He-man "I have the POWER!!!" Anonymous in the background "You sure do. And it reeks..."

Thanks for the Vids. Sure brings back good childhood memories. Let's hope we do see Silverhawks and Tigersharks projects in the future (or at least guest appearances in the Thundercats series) - that would be way cool.

Well, let's just hope the series does really well... it would seem that it's on a 6 week hiatus... so it is mentioned that the series will return (ep 9) on October 28th.
For the time being let's hope it doesn't get cancelled.

The Thundercats are back as the date on my last post mentioned...
And this time their adventure brought them to the Berbils... not particularly a good episode but it will suffice... anyhoo, FYI it's not Thundercats Ho! That's offensive. It's
Thundercats Hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
