And it's gonna be chuck full of commercials. Anyone for 5 minute-long commercials? LOL. But anyway I don't know if I'd watch it on ch.7 since I'm always asleep during those timeslots.

bleach-tards would eventually laugh on the way local dubbers will butcher Bleach's dialogue. i mean how would they dub Yachiru's taunts on Inoue? and the Slashing scene during the battles.
i'm hoping that it would not be butchered, but given the censors that we currently have it would be like hoping for something rare.

it's not the dubbers who butcher the show, it's the network itself who cuts it up to make way for commercials. all dubbers do is deliver the lines on the script, they have no creative control over the content. it's the producer who asks the scriptwriter to tone down the dialog to make it kid-friendly, as all anime dubbed into tagalog has been toned down. only super graphic violent scenes and semi-lewd shots like fanservice are edited out. the rest that are removed unnecessarily are done by the networks so they can stick in more commercials.
bleach is supposedly going to start on mid april. forget the info on anime news network, most of those [especially the ones pertaining to the tagalog cast] are submitted by fans and are based on guesses.

There's plenty of stuff that they have to consider in dubbing Bleach. How are they gonna call the names used for Matsumoto's Valley of the Gods? Some scenes really are very bloody and stabbing/slashing is a very common sight. I don't get the point why they have to use the Starstruck people to voice them over. As for myself I'd rather watched subtitled ones.

it's for shock value, to get the fans of the starstruck ppl to watch bleach. i dont think their participation in the dubbing is going to make the quality any better. thet are better off just getting better dubbers to do it than getting these kids whose acting talrnt is questionable as it is, what more since they still have to be taught to dub.

Remember the times when local dubbers where actually good? Nowadays, they don't seem to put any real effort.

actually the dubbing of the bleach anime right now on gma 7 is just LAME. i actually dont feel the "essence" or "persona" of the character and the anime are at their full extent. Kurosaki sounds like he has a fever, Rukiya sounds like she has the mumps, and so on...
they shouldnt have USED the starstruck members on the dubbing of Bleach. heck its just practically lame right now..
Not like on the other station.they practically got Naruto's somewhat irritating voice..the same goes with Kakashi's serious like voice..

my opinion GMA7 struggle too much on dubbing their animes' like for instance on samurai x and magic knight rayearth one of the worst dub I've ever heard since it was shown on ABS-CBN2 most of the characters didn't have the feel of the voice-over on the character they portray on to.
Anyway on the voice-over of the starstruck its much worst... Like on Ichigo when they've used Marky Chelo's voice-over, Ichigo's character sounds like very nice(kaya di bagay) and he can't portray any of his mannerism and characterization of the character it self. But if you've watch the original japanese release with subtitled version you'll see a GREAT difference.
Guys its like this... Just an analyzation on the voice actors, MAYBE the starstruck actors/actresses doesn't have any shows and need the job and exposure desperately!
We all know the network has the money to hire up real voice talents like they really do on other good anime' like on Lupin the 3rd and Slamdunk those are the BEST!!! dub I've ever heard

Remember the times when local dubbers where actually good? Nowadays, they don't seem to put any real effort. i dont see much difference, since they are the same bunch of ppl. what i DO know is that the quality is not as good since the deadline is much tighter now and they sacrifice quality for speed now more than ever. the trend is to dub more in less time. the quality of scripts are also dropping in some studios, some studios are relying too much on downloadable fansubs instead of paying for good quality translators. i hear some studios even order scripts to be written WITHOUT providing translations. looking at the whole industry, since producers never considered dubbing as an important factor, and as such, they never looked too hard on whether it was dubbed properly or not, the quality or standards of dubbing in this country will never improve. i applaud the voice talents, they work hard and do their best, but it's the producers that ruin the overall quality, the same way a good boxer can't perform well if his manager doesnt provide proper equipment or training. with regards to bleach, yeah i would have to agree, GMA's dubbing of this one is nowhere near decent. i also think they should have aired this series MUCH sooner without any hype, so that fans' expectations would not be as high as they are now. this show would have been more popular locally among GMA'S fans if treated like hunter x hunter was - dubbed by another studio and aired before the fans really got their hands on it from fansubs.

Hay, even if I don't like the dubbing they did, I still like the series. Oh well, since my shift next week will be regular office hours, I won't be able to watch Bleach anymore. Better look for "alternative" copies. I prefer the Cartoon Network US dubbing.
Let's just hope that the network learns from this...
