Hehe no harm done. Just checked HLj.com.. this baby is indeed the S.H.E. perfect change Gunbuster, due May 2006.. 59,800Yen.. whoo.. at that price it should do my taxes for me www.hlj.com/product/SHE039BTW just found out Gainax did a 6-episode sequel to the original Anime back in 2004, Top O Nerae 2(Aim for the Top 2), hehe it should be noted that the title "Gunbuster" is only a subheading title for the original series(Top O Nerae:Gunuster/ Aim for the Top: Gunbuster)... funny how the subheading became the more popular title. Can someone shed some background story on Gunbuster? SGP Oh man, I was only able to watch its series one time & its been ages. And I can say it has one of the most emotional climactic ending ever! As for the Gun Buster robot I never cared about it at that time. But still I'll buy the toy ;D

I think Malvin has the DVD, "Engrish" dubbed though but gets the story through. It's a 6 episode OAV set in the future, where mankind has the capability of space travel, but then they encounter alien invaders(no sentient enemy generals though, just waves and waves of drones). So back on Earth, mankind then begins focusing on defense, where all teenagers are given classes on military skills and mech driving as part of their curriculum. Our heroine is the sweet and innocent high school girl Noriko, her father was the captain of the doomed exploration ship that first encountered the aliens. Most of the first 3 episodes focus on Noriko training on Earth and trying to be more sure of herself, the Gunbuster mech only appears late in the 4th episode onwards. The strange part of this show is that it somehow works around Einstein's theory of relativity(I think), in that when they do "Light speed" jumps/warps into deep space, time on Earth moves forward at an incredible pace(For example, if they stayed in the jump window of 6-15 minutes, Earth has already jumped 6months forward or more, and an entire year in jump space translates as 15 years on Earth) Anywho, the last part of the show has a big "suicide mission" for the Earth defense fleet, the aliens have crossed several defense barriers and in order to wipe out the menace Earth's scientist develop the "Black Hole Bomb", it was called the "Buster Machine unit3", it was the size of a comet(it doesn't combine with Gunbuster by the way). In the end, after the big showdown between the Earth forces and the aliens, the Buster Machine 3's core was damaged and the only way to activate the bomb was for Gunbuster to detonate one of it's nuclear reactors. Hehe, the controls work like Daimos, so Noriko had to rip out her top for Gunbuster to rip out it's chestplate and extract the core(note, we see her bare breasts in this scene hehehe) ;D They succeed but with only 1 reactor to get the two pilots home, it took them 11,000 years to get back to Earth(it was only a few hours for the pilots though). I suggest checking out the anime, the animation is almost similar to that of Macross Do You Remember Love movie. Scans of the Gunbuster from Dengeki Hobby. Thanks to Bizzio of Robot Japan! Please click thumbnail for full size Looks like they included the "Buster Shield/Cape" and the toy can do the "Folded arms" pose(the first time we see Gunbuster in the Anime is when he launches from the Hangar in this pose) The toy also features the "Super Inazuma Kick" spike roller skates under the feet and can do the "core rip-out" move from the last part of the Anime. Due August for 18,000-19,000 Yen(Same Price as Dancouga! ) and is 25 Cm tall(10 inches more or less) Finally, as a teaser, here's a video clip someone uploaded over at youtube of the Gunbuster in action: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MG_N0gl0Tak&search=gunbusterGunbuster intro ("Active Heart" ) www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPsTeJPQ8HM&search=gunbusterGold
