hi bro! the pics are a lil blurry. did you also use the macro feature of the camera?
is the kit pre-painted already or is it a coated kit? looking forward to the completed kit! ;D

@qb, sorry, no macro on the camera. ill try to borrow a camera next time it's molded to color, so basically i'm gonna have to paint almost ALL the parts.

:'(disaster report!!!
today i tried to apply tamiya clear top coat for 1 foot, since i'm done painting it. maybe i sprayed a bit too thick and it ruined the metallic finish! ARRRGGGH!
anyways, i learned a new lesson today. i'll just grab a snack and get back to work. guys, any input about this?

IMO, topcoats most of the time, if not always, ruin metallic finishes... i dunno... maybe it depends on what kind of coat you applied... did you use the flat one?

sorry to hear that. but TOPCOATs really ruins the natural shine of metallic paints. unless you used the Flat Topcoat.
if ever, you can bring back the shine naman by using rubbing compound. not so sure which is safe for our kits. but i think there's an available rubbing compound so you can brink back the *shine*.

@ shinn, thanks for checking this out. i was using the gloss finish. i wanted it to be all shiny and smooth. guess they just don't mix, ne? @ no3Ljm, yeah, guess i'll have to settle for the natural *sparklingy finish of the metallic paints. FOR NOW, at least. maybe i'll drop by lil's sometime next year. ;D thanks again! anyways, here's some more pics! (from the same crappy camera) arigatou! tamiya tape! just love the way the metallic black stands out over silver. more to come!

hey guys sorry for the late update. i was e-mailing Santa and i was asking for a camera, he said i haven't been a good boy. anyways, new year, same crappy camera. thanks again for checking this out! as you can see, the shoulder armor pieces are still not there tried out an action pose for the headless gundam here's another angle and a blurry (as always) closeup of the upper body part. and here's a shot on the work-in-progress head! ~more to come! *i hope by the time i get an MG kit for my next projet i can use a decent camera. hehehe. happy new year everyone!

Wow! Shiny indeed! Metallics rules! Love metallics as well... and yes, the top coat ruins the luster of the paint. Just can't recall what i did before... Aha! i think i used flat topcoat nga. nice work man.

stalker888, raps, no3Ljm- i would consider it an advantage that the camera was blurry- it may not look as clean as the pix make you believe. hehehe! when i get my hands on a pretty decent camera i'd wipe out all these blurry pics and show you guys the real stuff so you can see how i fared with my first gunpla adventure with metallics! raven55, flat topcoat on metallic- will it reduce the 'shine'? again thaks guys for checking this out. probably tomorrow i'll post the latest pics of my progress. i've already uploaded them on photobucket, but it's already my bedtime. will check back soon!
