my (first) project is an HG (cheap) wing gundam zero custom- the thing is, i've decided on a different color scheme for the following reasons: 1.) i'd like to try being different, and 2.) i AM colorblind, in reality. so far, after following a ton of advices found in forums scattered all over the internet, i've come up with a color scheme, (poorly) done with photoshop, and i've barely started painting. here's the pic for the color scheme: i know it kinda sucks a bit 'cause i couldn't clean it up like i should anyways, thanks or checking this out, feel free to post your comments and tips coz i'm gonna need all the help i can get. wish me luck!

pre welcome to the greatboards! first of you are working on a pretty cool project there huh im not a modeler but i can be quite decent working with colors, i have a few suggestions you might consider: imho its better to take out the blue colors, much better if you pick a darker gray tone as a substitute same goes for the plain red scheme, you can try to make it deeper to complement with the predominant gray/black shade... but its just me are you an mp member? check out how ashtaron's devilwing work there, he used a wing verka as project so i guess it can help you fine tune your color scheme i think this thread is alright here, just post your gunpla collections and works na rin pre dito hope those helped, good luck and enjoy your GT stay!

welcome aboard to GTboards, kolrblynd! hope you'll enjoy your stay here.
regarding the color, i like it. i also agree with lotur. just remove the blue color. and change it something to grey or lighter grey.or if you still want the blue hue to be there. just add a small amount of blue on the grey paint.
happy building and painting! kudos!

welcome to the boards bro! the color scheme looks great bro but yeah....take out the blue part. it makes the kit uneven. you can probably also do midnight blue in place of flat black...that way, your kit reflects a different color day or night.... just a suggestion. looking forward to your work! ;D

thanks everyone! i really forgot to take out the blue there. hehehe. i'm planning on keeping the whole head white, btw. Lotur, i'm definitely gonna check out your suggestion. much to learn! @no3ljm, WOW! never thought you would check out my post. i've been checking out your MASSIVE collection even before i joined GT. thanks for checking this out! thanks for the suggestion, i think i'll use that bluish-gray on the joints and probably the (part that holds the wings)? what do you guys think? is it going to conflict with the red? @raps, thanks! that's a nice suggestion! that gave me the idea that having black around the camera eye will definitely emphasize the green color. kool! (i don't really intend to keep the antenna yellow, anyway.) @qb, thanks! that gave me the idea of making the inside of the wings midnight blue for a different effect when the wings are closed or opened. this is awesome!! i learned a lot in just a matter of hours! again, thanks for checking it out and sending in your thoughts. i'm absolutely gonna enjoy this! more to come! hopefully i'll be able to post more pics tomorrow. ~any suggestions about the head? do i just keep it all white?

welcome to GT bro... nice idea on WZC you have there... since the white deathsycthe hell was already done... it's nice to see WZC to trade color with the god of death...... black..

xentar, thanks for checking it out! that's cool! got a link where i could check out that white d-hell? btw, what inspired me to do black wings was when i saw Falken from Escaflowne- Van's brother with black wings. AND one of the references i used was d-hell custom. ~nyaa i remember my old 1/144 d-hell.. it was the year 1997. i used glow-in-the-dark stickers (free from a box of jack&jill pretzels) for the eyes and the camera eye, i used magic touch (liquid paper) for the white parts, also as a base for the blades of the scythe- then stabilo boss to color the blades neon-green. *now all that's left is the memory of having it. anyways, thanks for checking it out!

kolrblynd you're welcome bro. glad to be of help. MASSIVE ba? hehehe. just be sure to check out everyone's thread bro. they have MASSIVE-HUGE collection compared to what i have. hehehe. ;D
btw, are you going to handbrush your WZC or airbrush it? is this gonna be your first painted kit? yes, you can use the blue hue-grey to the joints. with that in mind, you can check Red Frame Amatu for the colors. or Blitz for that matter.
again, happy building and painting!

pics!!!! i'm using my (cheap, non-autofocus) sony ericsson 1.3mp phone camera set to 400x600. i'm using gunze metallic red for the red parts. gunze silver for the gray parts (dunno why i'm obsessed with metallics). legs! legs! legs! mo ay nakakasilaw! tried fitting 'em to tease myself to hurry and finish it up. i'm definitely gonna do something about the white unpainted part. it's a surprise! (i'm not decided yet). ..try to guess the devices in the background ;D thanks again for checking this out!

more pics!! to give you an idea of how black the wings are gonna look like- using gunze metallic black. this is just the first coat, thinking it may take only 3 or 4 coats to finish. thigh parts, coat#2 more legs- almost done! (for the silver-gray parts, at least). you may notice the mid-shoulder parts in the background- coat#1. ~thanks again for checking this out!
