Question to the MANY peeps who pre-ordered their SOC-Voltes V? I was wondering what "collector's value" the toy would have if there would be so many people owning one...
Is it the fulfillment of having a SOC-Voltes V? Is it an "investment"? Or is it something more? Don't get me wrong, I am also a Voltes V fan and I love the anime as much as anyone...These are just some thoughts in my mind, no offense meant...

If you mean monetary value, probably very little especially if you sell it to a fellow collector. This is not a limited edition collectible and Bandai has shown it will not hesitate reissuing popular robot characters. I appreciate limited edition items, but I am buying this because Voltes is one of the Super Robot characters I enjoyed watching when I was young. Although SOCs no longer appeal to me like they used to, I would like to own and display the SOC versions of my favourite SRs. The SOC Voltes design is simply amazing. It’s a great piece based on the pictures released so far. I can’t remember any recent toy release that has attracted non-SR collectors and generated this much commitment to buy the item.

I can't speak for the others but I think that the older fans are getting this mainly because....its expected to be the most definitive version of Voltes V, to date. As it is, most collectors that had the vintage version no longer possess that fantastic old toy! To some extent, this helps make up for the "loss". Like most toys though, even if a lot of people buy it today, the value of certain toys does go up significantly when its no longer available at retail. So, in terms of "investment" value, it will probably be worth something in the long term, but I think its too early to be speculating on what something like this would cost 10-20 years from now.

Don't know about the others but I'm getting SOC Voltes for the simple reason that I like this robot. siguro nostalgic reasons din. I remember kasi dati when I was young and walking around greenhills, nakita ko sa isang store yung godaikin version, priced at P2,000. cguro mga mid-80's yun. I desperately pleaded with my mom (or auntie ko ata) to buy it, even remembering to say na when I grow up I'll pay her back. Well, all I can say is P2000 is a lot back then, so no luck. For fans, finally owning a Voltes diecast is a fulffillment already.

for me, having this piece of toy means that there will be another piece in my little voltes collection and its good to see na may kasama na yung godaikin ko... i dont have an LD yet of voltes because of the price but I certainly got a clear copy of it without any subtitle....if you're really a collector, you will never see whats the value of money if the toy you collect will give you hapiness and satisfaction....I dont have the romando kit and the vinyl statue thats why i really want to have this one.....what i want to know is the release date and what's the percentage of its diecast content because what i know soc combiner has so little diecast .... ;D

to answer it on my point of veiw, it really depends on the situation.
Ex: MP g1 optimus prime. He price sores due to the uncontrolable demand for the takara toy... even if was mass retailed, the reatailers, suppliers can't meet the demand due to every one around the world knows G1 prime. ^^ The basic "demand supply thing" because of lack of supplies, and for the fact that, retail of this toy has sumwhat stop. Most collector's sell theirs for twice as much. (Due to the demand again... count the horders, guys who'se out to make a profic, ect...)
As for SOC voltes, unlike combatler V, Voltes is well know here and italy, and sum parts of europe and asia. Hopefully, it will meet everyone's demand for the toy. Since its not as popular in other countries. like other much well known Super robots.... so value for this toy may or may not increase so much so soon.. its just a matter of time like, Garvy said...
