I also thought that telesuccess will air Mazinger Z... with all those hype in the past... but i guess they werent able to secure the rights... I thought telesuccess owned the local rights for mazinger z? I remember them even showing clips for it back in animequest 2001.

yup telesuccess owns the rights to mazinger z and it was all set to be re-aired when Go Nagai sued one of the TV stations in japan for airing mazinger z without his permission. as the trial was going on, a restraining order was set not allowing any station in or outside japan to air any of Go Nagai works, tele abidded thus mazinger z was shelved again.

the world doesn't revolve around Voltes V.. I would wish ABS-CBN would get a new cartoon instead of reviving the old! i'd rather watch a new anime tagalog dubbed on Hero..
Are they just playing safe with V5 because it will always have ratings?!

Mazinkaiser and Racbreaker, any additional info you could share about Hero’s plans on Voltes and other robot shows?
Do you guys know anyone involved in the production? If the cast is still being finalized, its safe to say then that Hero will not air the series anytime soon.
Its easy to get inexpensive DVD or VCD copies of Mazinger, Voltes and Daimos online and offline. However, it is a bit difficult to get copies of the other SR shows. I would love to watch Dangard and Baratak again.
Does anyone know what kind and other rights Telesuccess owns? Thanks for any info.

I hope someday there would be a special edition Voltes-V DVD. Remastered just like Star Wars with additional footage or improvements-- I'd buy it.

The original engrish version with Jonee Gamboa as Dr. Smith (?) or was it Zardoz was the best. Even now, those guys are handsdown, the best...............
not so related news, 3 out of 10 Pinoys barely even recognize or even carry on fair conversational english....or even comprehend. I blame this Pinoy first mentality, especially dubbing a lot of this anime into tagalog. Heck, Avenger, Transformers and a lot that were originally in english have to be re dubbed into tagalog, yet here we are going heads over heals taking "english proficiency examinations just to get a decent jobs in the US or even get a deadend ones like that in call centers.

I'm no colonial, I love the national language as any red blooded Pinoy, but there are just some things that don't come out good in tagalog.
Example where tagalog killed the show:
1. Channel 5's Transformers...."ako Grimlock................."
2. Gundam (Seed especially)......a lot of "english" technical terms mixed with the tagalog.
3. Spiderman........................
4. Transformers Armada.................
Same as the "english" dubs on many anime features, confusing? Not unless you get AAA+ voice talents, such AAA+ voice talents can be found in the original Voltes V dubs. Same with the original Bioman, Star Rangers, Jack Q and Kiodai (Shaider is an exception..........."ang times spacewarp.........ngayon din............hahaha, now that was priceless.....)
