It doesnt really snap, if you push too hard you risk paint chipping. we just have to live with it Too bad I saw this tread too late my Voltez V now has a paint chipping in the crewzer Mechapunk is there a tab on your crewzer that would lock the 2 white parts together? Because when I inspected my Voltez V I though I have a defective piece, because upon closer inspection there seems to be a tab in there. But it was broken off I think It should lock the white parts above the crewzer. Last time i checked mine, it would seem there is a tab that should somehow 'lock' it from swiveling. However, there really isn't. I can bet on that the design meant for it to lock it in place with sheer friction. However, it doesn't work. It may be a bit of a bugger but i just had to accept it. Konting ingat lang for those who dont want any paint chipping.

thenk you master checkmate, i think i will be productive if i review my voltes, anyone might be interested of what will happen if you volt it in and out a few times. i noticed that my crewzer does not lock when in crewzer mode at first but a little pressure locked it in with both paint chips from both tabs. my bomber now looked like a butterfly knife and wont hold into its bomber mode if you hold the cockpit, it sags by itself. the panzer had major paint scrapes in it's silver side just where the threads swivel. one of the frigates legs now tends to spread and sag if you hold the cockpit area horizontally. the yellow fins has major paint chips where it contacts the legs while folded. the bottom of my lander suffers from scrathes. dont worry about the frigate antennae. i droped mine and they didnt break, they just suffered deformities. so far i havent broken any plastics and weapons and it looks like the plastics are designed to bend instead of break.

plagueis: Oh..... nice to here that you're enjoying your voltes v.... don't worry it won't take away anything from you. The merrier you are with it, the more "sulit" will be your volt machines I can still remember how much I enjoyed my Voltes V DX way back then (volted it in and out for a gazillion of times, allowed it to fly several feet above the floor and eventually developed multiple paint chippings and sometimes a part broken everytime it hits the floor and many many more imaginable and even unimaginable ways to play with it) . I know.... I know..... I'm a lil careless but what can I do I love the toy so much that I always played with it everytime I had the time with so much gusto. Presently it's almost fragmented and delapidated (severely battle damaged if you want to put it that way,hehehehe..... BUT after 25 years, I still treasure him so much as my best toy collection. Everytime I had the chance, I'll bring him out of my closet, remove him from the box and show him off to my visitors. YOu know what..... I believe, his greatness didn't decline a single bit. He still gets the appreciation and admiration he deserved (even with his present form). What I'm driving at here is I still love and appreciate my old battle damaged Voltes V Dx everytime I look at him. He carries with him my childhood past and the best thing of it all..... we had our share of playtime together. ;D Chipped or with no chips, broken or unbroken, mint or battle damaged....... he will always be priceless to me!! My greatest trophy as a toy collector......after all he's VOLTES V

wingseyemd, you got my point dead center! what can i say? there you go. im very glad to know you!
but sad to say that we are in a forum that seeks the almost impossible task of seeking the most perfect voltes toy that would satisfy everyone. i still think it's unattainable to do that. as the saying goes "if everything is perfect, then were in heaven"
i think bandai made the SOC voltes almost perfect in every way that they can, and along the way, paint chips, warps and scratches are bound to happen. and this is what this forum is trying to comprehend and solve. peace to everyone.

mine have some scratches at the silver part of frigate...looks like bandai really have some QC problem with this SOC....i really look for a better frigate but it always has paint chips and scrathes anywhere... Dude, you're not alone on this one, mine has a very, very tiny scratch on the frigate. I don't know if I made an oopsie or Bandai has QC problem like you said...

So far i didn't experience any scratches from my voltes. The best way to enjoy your voltes, is to not do any action poses to him.

My frigate has some minor scratches on the silver part, but aside from that, everything's okay. I had a very minor scratch on the bomber body (good thing it's was the plastic part), after I volt him in, but after that I didn't combine him again. I'm not that brave! haha! Well, the best solution to avoid paint scratch is just to buy two voltes, one for volting in and out and playing, and another to keep in vehicle mode! haha, but then again, an SOC is a bit pricey.

nice to meet you buffy.
one of my frigates landing gear is now seriuosly deformed. after volting it in and out so many times. but it didnt broke, i guess the metal is maleable in some form or another. im afraid to bend it back for reasons that it might break off. i let it be that and pretend its battle damage.
i agree with buffy on the pricey part of voltes. with the money, i could have bought a set of new tires for my vehicle. but voltes is like my old beautifull ex girlfriend. you get the excitement to see her again but you kinda forget the feeling. everyone who saw voltes has some story to tell and is a very good conversation toy. besides the fact that it is well engineered and accurate to the animation. that is why i love it.

I agree with you plagueis about the engineering. I would rather pay 9k than 40k (on ebay?) for the original popy toy. plus it's been 20 years that i've been yearning for a Voltes V so 9k is a fair trade for me.
