This may be good news for you, as there are rumors going on now that the VF-1S Hikaru will be reissued in January 2006. A person has already put them up on ebay. Also in another forum, a person is taking preorders too. I don't know how concrete this is, but i will believe it more when I see it up on japan online sites like HLJ.
If you are planning to get the VF-0S, maybe you should consider to get the VF-1S Roy. Shouldn't be too hard to find as it has been issued for a fourth time and the last time was about 3 months ago. I think Malvin still have stock as I see him having it up on ebay.

IMHO, any 1:48 Valk is good, it's just a matter to color preference. Try getting the one that's closest to its original release price.

The front landing gear covers do not close properly in the review. Is this just a QC problem or do all of the new ones have this problem? I have the 1st issue Roy and although the doors get scratched a lot due to the difficulty in opening them, they are aligned properly. The new ones have tabs for easier unlocking but is it at the cost of misalignment?

genocide: You can read a review of the 1/48 VF-1J from Collection DX: collectiondx.com/viewrecord.asp?txtKeywords=super+vf%2D1j&ID=363The 1/48's are a very worthy purchase. I suggest you get at least one. SEELE01: Sir, I have a couple of bit's I'd like to point out from your review if you don't mind. ;D The eyepiece technicall is composed of several sensor arrays and cameras for the battroid. It's not supposed to glow or light up. Only Toynami added that feature which is incorrect. The seams are not present on all 1/48's. I have 8, and only 2 have this problem. It's a QC issue, but not very big a problem. You're referring to the landing lights, and yes, I do agree that using 'reflectorized' clear plastic would have been better. The head seam isn't really 'infamous.' It's only like that because some morons over at Macross World made it so. By design, the seam is inevitable. This has been an issue since the first 1/48 release. It's because of the molds. Yamato has already confirmed that. It's a manufacturing 'must.' All manufacturers leave their mark on visible areas. That's the space for the arm joints to swing out from. I'd rather that design, than have to fully unfold the legs to get the arms out, ala the 1/55's. There's no need because there are no back plate covers in the original line art. Partly because most of the machinery of the Valkyrie is stored in the legs, and in between the chest and back panels. Practicality wise, there's no room for it. Anywhoo, that's about it. I hope this helps clear some items up.

The 1/48s look better in real than in pics. I suggest you go to GT ad look at one...then you can decide. I was having second thoughts about it when I was just looking at the pics. But yesterday I saw one in one of the shops and it really looks better in person...hehehe. Peace

i saw some pics, and the hands of the 1/48's are small and thin... do they really look that bad??? and it looks flimsy that i think it could break anytime... anywei... im only worried about the hands... but im beginning to fall for 1/48 valks!
one more thing i would like to ask. If the Roy Focker VF-1S is reissued for the 4th time, does that mean that the 1st three issues have problems???
@laughing man: why won't you post pics of your collection here? just wondering...

The hands on the Yamato 1/48s are indeed quite small as you've noticed but not as flimsy as you might have thought. They are detachable and can be replaced by other hands like the one included in the to-be-released GBP armor. If I remember correctly, only the 1st release of Focker's 1S had problems.
