Ok, this post doesn't involve a Takara made toy, but let's put it this way, it should have been a Takara toy! In any case, due to its design lineage which shall be explained below, it is, in a way, a "distant relative" of the Microman line: Yamato 1/15 Garland Bike from Megazone23 (boxed)Garland Bike w/ Microman Roadspartan figureAnother angleA Shot of the RearOk, I got lazy to transform this so I borrowed some odd pics off the net: ...the Microman actually is a little bigger than Shogo and is a bit too tight in the cockpit in robot mode (presumably a female or classic figure would fit fine though). I suspect the bike is 1/15, but the original design was actually a little too tight for real life (cheated). The original proto toys of this were designed using old and new Microman figures to "test" it, too.
Additional trivia: The Garland is designed by Shinji Aramaki, director of the recent Appleseed movie and designer of many famous mechs including the ones in Mospeada and Bubblegum Crisis.
Less famously, he was a contract designer on New Microman and Microchange, and designed the BioSuits and much of the MicroChange series--notably including the cassette bike, heli, as well as the microcassettes (Laserbeak, Ravage, etc) and others. He also probably designed the Bulsonic jet, and possibly some of the other New Microman mecha (Microrider and the armored suits seem plausible!). Aramaki actually cites working on the cassette bike for Microman led him to coming up with the transforming bike design in Mospeada...which in turn led to the Garland! So the Garland toy seems appropriate as an "honorary" Microman mech. -- from Bryan of Micropolis Embassy

Nice hauls, there, man. How about a review of the Microman EVA girls in plug suits? Thanks Chet, I'll see what I can do about making a review. Reviews can be tough since views of the reviewer are very subjective. Anyway, these ladies are still carded so I'll open them up and try to do a review over the weekend.

Ok lang yan 'pre. Don't worry about people's reaction to your opinion of the toys. You bought them with your money, so you bet your ass you have the right to say whatever the heck you want to say about them. Of course reviews are subjective. Kaya nga reviews eh!

Thanks to the guys at CybertronPhils, I got a tip on some toys that I've been looking for since earlier this year. Here they are, the 1/18 scale Happywell toys Roadbots!Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII (boxed)Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII - Robot mode (loose)Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII- vehicle mode (loose) - darn that's a cool looking car!Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII- vehicle mode (loose) - woohoo! a 1/18 scale Microman can actually fit! Its a tight fit, but a fit nonethelessToyota Celica (boxed)Toyota Celica - robot mode (loose)Toyota Celica - vehicle mode (loose) - the 1/18 microman will still fit but his legs have to be folded as there is no legroom for his right leg, so I had to tuck it under his left leg (de quattro). Also, the headroom is also low so he has to be slouching more in the bucket seat. Lastly, I noted that the seat is a bit far from the steering wheel, so the arms of a 1/18 scale Microman have to virtually be fully extended to reach the wheel. As such, trying to fit a smaller scale figure would be possible but the hands may not reach the steering wheel.Toyota Supra (boxed)Toyota Supra - robot mode (loose)Toyota Supra - vehicle mode (loose) - the 1/18 microman will still fit but his legs have to be folded as there is no legroom for his left leg, so I had to tuck it under his right leg (de quattro). Just as a quick roundup, these toys aren't diecast. Because of its plastic construction, one should be careful when transforming these babies. Admittedly, I haven't really been into TFs in so many years, so I had a hard time transforming them. But that's me. For all I know, other TF collectors may not even have to read the manual to transform them! ;D The robot modes weren't really impressive to me, but the vehicle modes are quite awesome! I only wish they had the MR2! Unfortunately, that wasn't in stock! Grrrrr........ Cheers, Garvy

very nice! they're like alternators - but how's the transformation and articulation? Hmmm......its difficult for me to make that determination as I never did collect the BT nor ALT lines, with the exception of the MP-01. From the looks of it, it seems a number of TF collectors seem interested so hopefully, if they buy any of these, they'll have inputs that will prove more useful to you. I'm sorry I can't be of more help. Unfortunately, I don't have a frame of reference to compare these toys to the Alternators.

great roadbots hauls, garvy. congratulations. i saw a yellow hummer roadbot on bigbadtoystore a few minutes ago. looks cool. Thanks Bruticus! For this line, my real objective was to get 1/18 scale transforming robot cars that my Micromen could ride in. Of the first three models I got, its really the Evo that I love the most! With any luck, assuming it becomes available locally, I'll probably get the MR2 and the Hummer. I don't really intend to complete the line. I'm content with just getting the cars that appeal to my taste! Cheers, Garvy
