cy_'s supah armory part 1... presenting, the gears/gadget/devices of the kamen riders.
my collection begins in the post-ishinomori kamen rider series, starting with
kamen rider kuuga. the only stuff i have from the kuuga series is the
kamen rider kuuga dx henshin belt. kuuga has 11 diffrent forms; the initial form is the growing form (white) and the basic is the mighty form (red) while the strongest is the ultimate form (black). there are four colors for kuuga's different forms on the front of the belt: red (mighty), blue (dragon form), green (pegasus form) and purple (titan form). the four colors can be pressed to activate kuuga's forms and the belt electronics lights up according to the color.
the second series to follow is
kamen rider agito. and for this series, i too have the belt,
kamen rider agito dx henshin belt. activation for transformation -> "henshin!" is the two large round buttons placed on the sides to the belt. eletronics is also active as the center of the belt lights up to give a better feel of being A kamen rider.
next up is
kamen rider ryuki, which in my collection, has the biggest in number to date, and also one of the best i got so far. the kamen rider ryuki series has 13 riders plus "fake riders" -> alternative and alternative zero. in my collection, i have the riders'
visors which they use as a "card activator" -> to use their weapons for special attacks.
to start off, i have
kamen rider ryuki's dx dragvisor and a
shokugan dragvisor. ryuki is in contract with the dragon mirror monster dragredder. kamen rider the dx dragvisor has the loudest voice response i've heard so far, which make it REALLY great! A-DO-VEN-TO! (ADVENT!) -> totally WICKED! plus, the dx dragvisor even recognizes bootleg advent cards just as it normally responds to original advent cards which are released in the toy market. opening and closing the visor has sound effects; the closing sound effects depends on the advent card inserted inside the visor. "TRICK VENTO!" and "FINAL VENTO!" are some responses i could clearly hear from this toy. there's also a button on the finger handle of the visor which has attack sound effects, normally used when the bearer uses a "strike" advent card.
while the shokugan version has no electronics to make it really wicked, there a button which releases the visor, to open it up. since the shokugan version is smaller compared to the dx version, your usual advent cards won't fit in this one.
kamen rider ryuki has a "powered-up" form -> the
survive mode. the dx survive dragvisor resembles a gun with dragon Designs. the "mouth" of this dragon gun is where the "survive" advent card is placed -> "SUR-VIVE!" the top part of this dragon gun has a hidden short blade that can be pulled out as a short dagger for the dragon gun. the advent cards are inserted on the card panel above the gun handle. this toy can also recognize bootleg cards too ->
"FINAL VENT-O!"next is
kamen rider knight's darkvisor. he is in contract with the bat-like mirror monster, darkwing. his visor is pretty much simple, but like the other visors other than ryuki's, this lacks in voice response. also, when you open the card panel to place an advent card, there's no sound effect. but the normal sound of sword-slashing and sword fighting sound effects gives this one a good feel sword battle. this is also one of my favorite swords in my collection.
knight also has a survive mode, giving him a new survive visor. his survive visor is now similar to ryuki's normal dragvisor which is located on the wrist. this one's heavier than ryuki's, which makes your left arm heavier when carrying this visor. this visor has features closely similar to ryuki's survive visor, only this has a bow gun mode compared to survive dragvisor's dagger mode. also, a sword can be released from the survive visor. my only complaint is that the sword is sooo short, making it look like a dagger. this one's shorter than usual compare to knight's normal visor.
next up is
kamen rider ouja's venomvisor. he is in contract with the mirror monster venosnaker, then later contracts with metalgelas (gai's monster) and evildiver (raia's monster), after defeating their contract riders. ouja's visor is a cobra staff. the card panel is released at the back and the card is inserted upside down. a simple visor but looks pretty good for me.
now, it's
kamen rider taiga's (tiger) visor. he is in contract with mirror monster destwilder, a big, siberian tiger monster. his visor is a tiger axe. the card panel is released by pressing a button below the tiger end of the axe while pulling down the upper part of the axe. it will reveal the card panel and it will also leave the tiger axe's "mouth" open. bootleg cards also work for this one. this one also happens to be my first visor i acquire for my collection.
and finally, the
kamen rider ryuki dx v-buckle. this one also comes with buckles of knight and zolda, but no advent cards. the on button is located on the top of the front part of the belt. insert the buckle and a sound effect will be heard to complete the rider's transformation. then pull a card from the buckle and a sound effect will be heard as a card is pulled. pretty simple and plain. this is my first kamen rider henshin belt, which i've also worn in a convention like in the first HERO TV convention.
next kamen rider series is
kamen rider 555/faiz. as of this writing, i don't have faiz's driver yet, only some of his gear. so to start off, i have a
shokugan version of faiz's pointer.
img.photobucket.com/albums/v610/cypher/collectibles/gear/dev-faizpointershok-b.jpg[/IMG]the faiz pointer is an attachment to the lower leg of faiz which, when activated, locks down on an enemy and faiz unleashes his powerful faiz kick. the gimmick on this one is a simple light-up on the pointer itself. this one comes with a faiz key and the pointer is removable from the leg attachment.
next up is
faiz's dx shot gear. this one is used on the hand. when activated, faiz uses this to defeat the enemy with a powerful punch. this one seemed pretty plain. sound effects button for the punch is located on the handle of the gear, and the front of the shot gear lights up too.
now, the
dx faiz edge. the faiz edge comes from faiz's bike, the
autovaijin. to activate the faiz edge, faiz must release his faiz key and insert it onto the faiz edge. the faiz edge is actually on of the steering handles of his bike. once activated, the faiz edge lights up and is ready for action. the dx faiz edge has two modes which can be activated on top of the handle: a simple light-up activation and an "exceed charge" mode. the exceed charge mode is when the rider activates the gears powerful energy and "charges up". in the dx faiz edge, without the key, the edge cannot light-up. key is essential as it automatically pushes a small button to activate the dx edge's light-up feature.
the shokugan version of the faiz edge has a simple gimmick too, as it could light-up by squeezing the "break" on the handle of the faiz edge.
next up is
kamen rider kaixa's dx kaixa phone. just like in the tv series, the dx kaixa phone has everything that is similar to the real gear of kaixa. the phone keypad can be opened by pushing the top part of the phone to the right, with the antenna facing the bearer of the phone. the dx kaixa phone's "screen" has the keys necessary to activate it's nifty features. press "103 + ENTER" to activate the "single mode"/normal gun mode. you can push the top part of the phone to the left so it could be used as a gun. the trigger is found on the left side. then press "106 + ENTER" to activate the "burst mode"/powerful gun mode. press "279 + ENTER" to activate the "charge mode". note that you must press "103" first before using any powered-up gun mode or else this will cause the phone to "ERROR!". and finally, press "913 + ENTER" to "HENSHIN!". you must have the belt to place the kaixa phone to complete the transformation process as a button is pressed on side to fully "COMPLETE!" kaixa's henshin.
the dx kaixa phone also has voice/sound responses for buttons pressed and weapon activation. this one also has light-up features on the top of the phone and the antenna. this phone definitely has THE rider feel. hopefully i could also score faiz's phone/driver in the future.
and the last gear in my collection from the kamen rider faiz series is
kamen rider delta's dx delta driver. this one's incomplete though. i do not have the delta key, as well as the belt; only the
holtser and the
camcorder. the camcorder is placed on the right side of the belt, while the holtser is used to activate the delta driver. the on button is located on the top of the holtser, above the antenna.
to activate delta's transformation, the antenna must be pushed up to trigger the "PERMISSION!" process to transformation, then the bearer of the holtser must press and hold the trigger until the antenna blinks fast. then attach the holtser to the camcorder to complete the transformation and release the trigger -> "STANDING BY... COMPLETE!". now that the holtser and the camcorder are combined, they become delta's primary and only weapon other than hand-to-hand combat. to activatethe gun, it must be activated to its "burst mode" -> delta's gun doesn't have the single mode/normal gun mode. you must hold the trigger until the antenna blinks to activate the "burst mode". in "burst mode", delta can fire his gun again and again. to activate the gun's lockdown feature which is similar to faiz's pointer, insert the delta key in the key panel on top of the camcorder part of the gun to extend the gun -> "READY!". press and hold the trigger to "EXCEED CHARGE!", then press the trigger again to fire. after this, delta jumps up to unleash his finishing kick onto the enemy.
bottom line for the faiz gear series, other than the drivers, the others lack coolness to make up for it's high price in the local toy market. delta only has the delta gear out, complete with the camcorder, holtser and the belt, including the delta key, which makes the delta driver a very good buy.
the next series to follow is
kamen rider blade. my blade gear collection are not composed of dx versions but versions by
POPY. i only have
chalice's bow and
garren's gun, both made by POPY.
the bow has several gimmicks with it, one is that the bow can be folded and released by pulling or pushing the black handle. chalice's "heart" buckle can be released or be combined with the bow and has sound effects too. garren's gun unfortunately has only a pull-back feature at the back of the gun, above the holtser to create a simple "noise" when pulling the gun's trigger. now i just need POPY versions of leangle's staff and blade's sword/blade to complete this set.
next up is
kamen rider hibiki. right now, i only have a simple
hibiki buckle by BANDAI. this one has no gimmicks but pretty easy to wear as this one has clips at the back to attach to any lower garment such as shorts, skirts, slacks or any pants with belt.
and finally,
kamen rider kabuto. right now, i only have
kabuto's kunai gun by POPY. this kunai gun can be separated to release the kunai gun's blade. just press the two buttons simultaneously located on the opposite sides to the gun to release the blade. there's also a simple sound effect when the trigger is pressed from the gun.
so that's it so far. to follow are my gear/gadget/devices collections from the other toku series.
