Reviving this thread.
Anyone here have tips on airbrush maintenance? What parts would need replacements often and what causes damages to ab sets?
Also, does anybody have pictures of their ab setup with parts labelled for the benefit of us who are interested in getting one?
TIA! ;D

Usually it's the nozzle, because that's where the clogging happens.
Badger airbrushes have lots of diagrams and parts listing in the net, as for other brands, I have not yet found one.
My advice on maintenance is always make a full cleanup (disassemble) every end of session/day.

since I mainly use Acrylics after each session I spray Windex into the flushing bottle to clean and afterwards dismantle to clean the needle, tip and other pieces before put 'em back for storage... Most of time when you buy the AB it comes with the instruction which includes the diagram~

so in cleaning, one needs to fully disassemble the ab and uh soak it in thinner? if i'm just using acrylic, is it alright for me to use alcohol for quick cleaning of the ab?

JUST for cleaning not mixing with paint. just make sure you rinse it with water afterwards. with thinner kasi a good 3-5 runs max should clean the a/b. for alcohol. you need to clean it right after you use it. otherwise its gonna be hard.

Hi everyone,
I'm also collecting MGs for quite some time now and I recently bought myself an MG Strike Freedom. The thing is, I want to paint it (specially the frame) so I've searched the web for some ab brands and studied their specifications.
I am currently working here in Abu Dhabi and its really difficult to find the necessary materials here. I am looking for an Iwata HP-CR (Revolution Series) and I just thought that this will be much cheaper (or so I think) to buy back home in the Philippines. Can somebody please help me out here? Please tell me were I can find these items.
Iwata HP-CR Airhose for the ab Airbrush cleaner Air propellant (I'll definitely buy the Smart Jet later on) Air regulator (other accessories I need?) And of course the Gundams paints
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks!

@ EVA....
dont forget to get yourself an Air Moisture Trap w/ Regulator....very handy i should say...coz it wont clog up your hose...or if you can buy those transparent airbrush hose with built in filter...that would be NEAT!!!
oooooh......and if planning to bring backs those Gundam paints back in Bahrain.....just a WARNING...those are flammable stuff.....better check first if you can bring those aboard a passenger plane.....or u might get into trouble with the authorities......

Thanks for the info Altair. I just found out from Anest-Iwata America (I tried to contact them) that they have a distributor in Dubai and I already managed to stablish a contact with them. So, I think I will still stick with Iwata. Badger is available here but I still prefer Iwata. Cheers!
