The 20th Century Fox studio is expected to shoot three big-budget movies in Montreal over the next year; each has a budget of at least $100 million. The films are the Night at the Museum sequel Another Night, Independence Day director Roland Emmerich's remake of the sci-fi flick Fantastic Voyage and a big-screen adaptation of the Japanese manga Dragonball Z. Dragonball Z is adapted from the manga created by Akira Toriyama; the work was also turned into a Japanese anime series that played all over the world. It tells the story of an alien sent to destroy Earth, who has a change of heart and decides to join the humans in their fight against various aliens and bad guys. There are no details yet as to when these three shoots will begin, but they are expected to wrap production by next July. Taken from www.ultimatedbz.com/Hmmm I was shock on this one .... Let's hope and pray that this will be good. What are your tots about this. ?

I remember back then that there was a Dragon Ball (Live-Action) Movie...... it's funny and kinda low-budgeted movie..... heheheh.....
Since, this is Dragonball Z. I assume there are lots of characters..... I'd like to see Vegetta and his hair-do! ;D

hmmm... looking forward to it. but somehow, i rather prefer a CGI version ala-Final Fantasy than live action movie. same goes to the rumored Metal Gear Solid live action movie. it's best if they do it in CGI.

I'm having a feeling that they'd turn this into something like a sci-fi flick... ala starwars with lots of kung fu. I would have to wait for further developments before passing judgment but my initial impression is around the area of "wtf, they should make a pokemon live action while they're at it".

I'd appreciate if Stephen Chow would direct it for them and use his production crew. I really love what they did with Shaolin soccer and Kung fu Hustle. They are a step to making Dragonball Z a reality. I do hope also they would get Asian actors to do dragonball z like Jet li as Vegetta, Stephen Chow as Goku & Chow Yun Fat as Cell.

I wish they would made this in CGI. Cause its hard for them to look for a real actor who could play Son Goku. The only thing in my head that would match up on Son Goku when he is on super saiyan mode was Arnold Scharzenneger (the one on Conan The Barbarian type possible) hehehe. ;D ;D ;D.
CGI is the real closes thing that you would want on a Dragon Ball Z live action. I wish they could make this like a la Final Fantasy Advent Children. ;D

But producing a movie doesnt mean we'll be seeing the same action we saw from shaolin soccer right? its all in the directors hands.

My first wish for a Dragonball Z cast would be; Goku - Stephen Chow Vegeta - Jet Li Cell - Chow Yun Fat Nappa - that bald Japanese guy from Last Samurai Unfortunately, a American cast will be used for this Dragonball movie. One good thing though is that Stephen chow is the executive producer along with the "Matrix" fx team.
