Bootlegs sis not boothlegs. Price not always the case but take a look at the quality.

I managed to compare and see what the fakes look personally and with Google's help, so I suggest doing the same research before delving into the world of fakes. My L Nendoroid is fake because I don't want to ruin an original for my project, and at the time PU was the only seller that's lower than the competition. CA and BT are selling fake Nends at P700+ while PU is only P500. CU and BT are selling the fakes along with originals but checking them properly will prove beneficial. Last time I saw was BT selling an EVA Fraulein at less than 1K... (? figure was wearing white jumpsuit) whoa... To think I almost bought the L dendroid in BT since it was pretty cheap... just a question though, specifically for Dendroid/Play arts toy line... is there any way to check if the item is bootleg or not just by looking at the box (like when it says made in china)? or you really have to check the details of the toy itself? Doing research before buying is the best way to find out. There are different indicators for each product. As for generalizing "Made in China" products to be bootlegs, this is not accurate. Most original products are now made in China; Gundams and figures alike.

some of the collector suggested me in to get figures in wasabi, now the price will tell the originality of an item? cheaper price the figure is the more chance ill get a fake item? for me its really hard to find shops specially im buying on the net. im from tarlac...... Here's the last thing you should know about buying your figures since price and quality doesn't always mean the item is fake or not; Google, Yahoo and others are your friend, you may have a hard time looking for the right information but it's better than stumbling on a really bad deal. - Online purchases (like ebay or the sort) is always a risk, some people will show the original item on the pictures but will send an imitation when shipped, so check the integrity of the seller (you can do this on ebay) so you don't get duped. - Price will not suggest an item is fake. Case in point is Tamiya kits, on top of the bar code and on the sides of the box shows the SRP in JY so converting it to peso will give you an idea how much you should pay for it. Locally, you can already get as much as 50% off the SRP of Tamiya kits (check Lil's and you'll know what I mean). Saying so means that the price in those stores mean that the items are fakes, it's just that the market for the kits are bigger that they offer stores more than half the SRP of the items. In the case of the figures, they are usually made in small productions so demand will rise and the companies will make new batches to fill the market demand. That way they can avoid making overruns which can be expensive when the figures don't meet the expected demand, and make money when the items do sell off the shelves. And that's what bootleggers keep an eye of. - Quality - you can ask around in GT but the main fact is you will never get enough satisfaction on a single figure/item specially when it's mass produced. Quality will always be affected by many factors, but these are always dependent on how strict QC is for that certain company. Notice Transformers sometimes come with partially uncleaned sprue stub? And sometimes you really hate a tinny tiny drop of paint sticking on a Gashapon when you open the box? If you really want the best quality, get a limited edition which were made with this number of copies only for this outrageous amount of money. As I mentioned before, bootleggers nowadays are going through all the lengths to copy an original to grab a piece of the market. You will spot a bad fake but a really good one will always trick anybody's eyes. And yes BT sells the fake Nends with some originals hidden behind them. The Frauleins I saw in BT were originals, they were probably the older versions of the figures hence the price. - My mistake but just being careful on my part Do your homework and rest assured you'll get what you really wanted.

Ganethere's also other seller in ebay like raredeal, rarefaction, and anime.city that distributes the same bootleg toys. i just bought a bleach set from PU and compared to the other set i bought in raredeal before, they're both the same quality and box. i agree it's being sold here somewhere at whole price... Yup and since buyers don't usually have a clue where they get their supply we'll never know, even just to get a bigger discount for a bootleg since they are fakes. I once tried to befriend a seller but even if you buy a lot of their merchandise they will just keep you waiting on the item you requested. So I stopped before I lose more on that deal.

i don't know why but bootlegs of playarts are spreading like a virus... but yes, i guess you can say that you'll get the original 99% of the time in GT... it's better to buy from a collector-owned store rather than getting it online or getting it from major toys stores... cause understand that it's also difficult for big stores(e.g. TRU and TK) to check their items one by one. so, put in mind that before buying, always, and i mean, ALWAYS check for hints of bootleggedness(if there is such a word ;D).... regardless if you're buying from a specialty store or not... and please, refrain from buying online... i'm not discouraging it but, man, it's a major heartbreak if you get a fake one.

I think the reasons for the massive bootleg here is its meant for the people here. Think about it, can a majority of naruto fans buy an ORIGINAL naruto figure? or a an Original Final Fantasy playarts? of course most wouldn't, thats why bootlegs come and are overflowing here because it fits the market here. And majority of the fans don't care if its original because they can't afford it. As long as they have a figure of their favorite anime/vg characters, there happy and who can blame em. but its also sad becuase if they were a true fans, they would buy the original and won't support bootlegs You can say that the this country is actually a "psuedo otaku" country because of the majority ignoring of supporting origs. Just an opinion, don't hate me.. ^_^'' As for the site, I don't know if that's allowed, but its the net. You could do anything there hahaha ;D . Just ask a lot of experienced collectors My advise is to stick to buying at local stores first before going online buying so that you could learn from the store owners also ;D

it's better to buy from a collector-owned store rather than getting it online or getting it from major toys stores... You're making GT blush with those words... ;D Gt and other specialty shops are the only shops offering these items a few weeks after they come out in Japan whereas big toy stores come a month or two late; with that said they do come in handy at most times. But if Bandai distro here would really want to be competitive (like the Hasbro/Takara with TF), we'd be seeing Gundams priced like Tamiya kits... It is possible that these big toy stores know they are selling fake items since they also want to cater to those who can't really afford the originals. But unlike the bootlegs we are talking about here, these stores sell obvious fakes that have different names on their packaging (and sometimes don't like the Naruto figures a few years back in TK). That's why it is important to do your homework before buying online, specially on places like ebay and the likes. But don't ask anyone to refrain from buying online since the trading section in GT is already an online transaction for trading and selling items from other members, and remember that GT is also an online store specially when you check the main page www.greattoysonline.com which caters to other Pinoys in provinces and other countries. I think the reasons for the massive bootleg here is its meant for the people here. You can say that the this country is actually a "psuedo otaku" country because of the majority ignoring of supporting origs. Just an opinion, don't hate me.. ^_^'' As for the site, I don't know if that's allowed, but its the net. You could do anything there hahaha ;D . Just ask a lot of experienced collectors My advise is to stick to buying at local stores first before going online buying so that you could learn from the store owners also ;D Please don't single out "this country" because remember these bootlegs were not made here and were not the only victims these fakers are trying to trick. These bootlegs reach as far as the US and so on. Yes we do see a lot of them being sold but chances are, they are also available in other countries and in different languages as well. It's always a matter of Buyer Beware.

On the contrary, I think the main contributor is lack of information. There are indeed quite a number of people who still continue to buy fakes with them knowing but most of them have no clue that they are.

i guess lack of information is also a reason, but only in limited cases. the main culprit is still the support for bootlegs because of price. seriously now, even if a regular juan dela cruz would see an original naruto fig from let's say bandai, and he sees a bootleg version of it, most of the time, he's bound to buy the cheaper bootleg. why? coz "wala naman pinagkaiba at mura e"

17 poh when i buy in pahku he said he dont sale fake figure... i trusted him, then this happens(nakakasama ng loob) i remember he said to me what you see in the site that is the actual product,, I still remember the time I bought cloud play arts from him and asked the same question, he said he's not sure since he gets his stuffs from the chinese. We agreed that I'll check the item first before I buy it (knowing there's a chance it's bootleg). I've checked the quality and its ok and box is the same posted in his website so I have no problems with it. I asked about his Naruto gashapons and he admitted its fake and explained to me how messy some of the paint apps are. And just by looking at his ebay feedback he have 100% positive feedbacks. What you're sharing us is different from my experience. You also mentioned earlier that his price is the same as the original yet he's selling his play arts at 1.2K only. Claiming false information is foul move. By the way you dish PU and make him look bad too much while proudly expressing your support to GT, I guess you're showing us how good you are at kissing GT's ass. Grow up kid. Be responsible for your actions and stop blaming other people for it. nuts like you are better off dead. The poor kid told you Jorrell Ang tricked him yet you blamed him for committing a mistake? Ang BOBO mo pala! That's the sort of em-breed thinking this place called the "Philippines" should avoid.
