there's no perfect kit..expect some flaws on everything..even SHFiguarts has some flaws..it's a matter if you'll accept this flaws or not..even figmas has some flaws in some parts..that's why bandai uses model kits in order for us to do what result we want with the kit..but if you don't like building, you can always choose the RD since it's already built and detailed.

Ah. In case of paint flaking off or chipping, what do you usually do?

Ah. In case of paint flaking off or chipping, what do you usually do? nothing...I don't wanna ruin the kit just because of a paint chip..if you try removing the paint chip, it'll leave a paint mark which is much awkward..you'll be forced to repaint that entire part too..

In the case of loose joints, do you fix them? If yes, how?

In the case of loose joints, do you fix them? If yes, how? depends on what type of joint you're dealing with...those kits using polycaps aren't fixable..you have to change the broken polycap..in cases of revol joints, if the loose is on the rotator itself, try tightening it..revoltech has a plier suitable for the revol joint(included in genobraker and blade liger revoltechs)..if the problem is within the connector (the straight part), I often cover it with super glue and drying it before putting it back..it won't stick don't worry..been doing it for months now..^^ in cases of ball joints (Busou Shinki or any MMS), I often tight it using super glue..apply to the ball joint, dry it then put it back..I found it tightening the loose joints..though if the loose part is within the metal joint, there's no way to fix it..

Ah! Should the super glue be applied only as a thin layer for the revo joints?

Ah! Should the super glue be applied only as a thin layer for the revo joints? yeah once is enough..it'll just cover up for the space made by the widening of the hole..

Thanks to Kasmichan for the previous response... Actually I'm looking for something like this set of ball-joints or poly-cap set. Not necessarily the same brand because I once saw a Kotobukiya version but forgot the place where I saw it since I don't really have a need for it before... www.hlj.com/product/YLSPPC-T11www.hlj.com/product/KBYD-71

Uhm... yeah but I prefer looking for them in local shops first... shipping from overseas is expensive if I only got those joints... I'd probably ask around next time for unused joints from newer kits...

Thanks for the offer... I'm looking through my spares box for parts I can reuse for now... I have 3-5 kits waiting completion eh... LOL
The latest kits have very interesting sets of polycaps like the ones in the new Gundam 00 kits and Beginning G.
Btw, do you have any idea/estimate how much local customs charge for items bought outside the country e.g. Japan?
Some items are not sold locally and they are only available thru online purchases...

well..the normal fee I pay for customs using the standard box from hlj and hobby search is 45php..if the item is bigger than shf or HG 1:144/1:100 kits, it's usually around 1k..but the item price also effect the cutom's handling fee..my Gutto Kuru Shiney Luminous took 1600 on my pocket in order for custom to relase it..so the fee varies..the main tips I can give will be...
1) consider it's value. the higher the value, the higher the fee will be. 2) courier... some shipping company like DHL,Air21 and LBC has thier own fee since they deliver door-to-door..DHL is the most expensive fee I encountered so far..Air21 and LBC don't charge you when they deliver the item to you... 3) package size..the package size will also affect the fee..sometimes, the bigger the box, the higher fee..dunno why though..
rest assured, if you want your item to arrive at a very short time,go for DHL or Fedex..PO sometimes take quite long even if you used EMS for shipping since they do it in "FCFS" basis so if your package arrived at a bad time (a.k.a so many packages), expect it to take a whole week or more..I experienced it quite often nowadays due to xmas season getting around the corner..

I reloaded Gundam 00 season 2 on DVD and got this humorous thing that I hope somebody will NOT take too seriously, just to liven up the place a bit...
"Does the Perfect Grade Gundam 00 Raiser's Twin GN Drives malfunction if they don't sinc?"
Again humor me, don't take this seriously please... and maybe we can add a Gundam humor thread... ;D
