TIA!!! Mixing those two will only give you a faint redish-silver. Here's a few ideas to get that metallic red finish... For spray paint: - Grab a Tamiya Metallic Red (TS18)... - Cheapest is getting one in a hardware store like Ace and look for Honda Red or simply Metallic Red... - Spray chrome silver + let dry + spray Mr. Top Coat + let dry + spray clear red (also available in spray cans) + let dry + repeat Mr Top Coat .... if this isn't chrome red enough for you I don't know what is... A variation is "Flat Black + Clear Metallic + Clear Red = Candy Red" and it's really sweet once it's buffed with modelling compound For enamel or acrylic: - Chrome or Metallic or Titanium Silver + Red = apply the red in small increments so you can get the result you want using your brush... - Candy red is also doable if you have an airbrush if not it is advisable to get a can of Mr. Top Coat... FYI Candy Red is similar to mirror finish in luxury cars displayed in auto shows...

To add another question, is pylox any good for that metallic look on our model kits?

I also have a question for pylox. Is it good for painting gundam models and has anybody used them? Because when I did a canvassing for materials at Ace Hardware Megamall, I saw a plastic house that was painted with pylox metallic blue, the output was good... (a standard from a newbie like me ) and it's around 130 pesos (very practical for me). Another question, how do you make a darker shade of blue? Is it okay to use black as base and then let dry, then spray blue? Is that how you guys do it? I'm also thinking, is there someone that paints model kits for a certain price? Just wondering if it would be more cheaper to have it painted by another person, who has better skills.

This is a new revelation for me. To add another question, is pylox any good for that metallic look on our model kits? Yup, but you can look around for cheaper brands as well. Make sure you read the label though because some spray paints are created for car finishing and some of them are too strong for plastics. I also have a question for pylox. Is it good for painting gundam models and has anybody used them? Because when I did a canvassing for materials at Ace Hardware Megamall, I saw a plastic house that was painted with pylox metallic blue, the output was good... Yup, but since these paints are used for covering larger areas you may have to experiment first before delving in. A good solid color will help making notes on how far and how to spray it properly. Why? Because we all make our kits in different conditions and environments so it's most likely up to you to get things right. I don't know if spray painting black as base color then blue will help unless you have an airbrush which you can use to apply the Max W. Technique over a black base. You can also mix your paints for airbrush use. Spray paints tend to cover the area with it's color and covers any visible paint under it except for some paints that are designed to do just that like silver and pearl finish. I haven't tried it personally but in older projects I have to scrape/sand off the paint that accidentally landed on another color. Haven't seen any effect other than covering the other coating... You can use clear blue to a black base for spray paints since both are available, although clear colors are a few bucks higher than your regular color. Or you can look for the right color if you want. Good Luck though...

quick question for those who have a MG strike freedom. Anybody have tried using clear or semi clear coat spray for the gold internal parts? Does it look good? Also is it safe to use the gold metallic marker which can be bought in national bookstore for P50 for the internal parts? Another quick question since I'm here as well Where can I buy cheap tamiya flat coat spray? I usually buy at lils hobby shop at P220 a piece. Any place cheaper than that?
