Hi Trov,
Well, SOC Maz and Gmaz still feel superior compared to the SRC in terms of weight, size and shelf presence I guess. Given the choice of choosing only one, I'd stick with the SOC versions.
With regards to collecting the same character in 2 lines, well, my primary purpose for getting SRC Maz and GMaz is on the off chance that Bandai will be releasing a Photon research lab later on (there were blueprints for it a while back). But apart from that I'll be going selective with this line (skipping on Reideens, Dygenguar and the Sentai bots).
The SRC figures so far on my list from here on out would be -Alteisen (scale works for SOC) -Dendoh (scale works for SOC) -Ogre and Kiba (from Dendoh) -Cybaster -Mazinkaiser SKL (since I already bit the bullet with Maz and GMaz)
If they do roll out Grendizer and the Getters I might get them too.

Dendoh and Knight Ogre's arms look overly long and the body structure too thin, IMHO. Still, they're my targets from this line since there're the only Dendoh figures around. Crap! An SRX Team is right behind the corner..... there goes my 2011 budget plans!

Finally got my hands on my first super robot chogokin, Mazinger Z. what can i say, I'm impressed. its small, but its ok. i like the possability and the diecast. Makes me kinda forget revoltechs. I'm into the old school robot so i hope they will make more of them.

Because Bandai loves to make at least 50 or so Mazingers per toy line, up next is: www.comic-gekkin.com/comics/goods/majin.htmlMazinger Z, Mazinkaiser SKL Color Version. Supposedly based on the Manga (not the OVA), and will be another exclusive, due out in July 2011. Will also have a Mazinkasier SKL Manga packed in with it. Gold

Hi all, here's a quick look at Super Robot Chogokin Alt Eisen (note: the box now has 3 tape seals) Gimmicks Multi-directional thrusters Adjustable shoulder wing parts Square Claymore Triple Machine Cannon Heat Horn effect Diecast is mostly in the main torso of the toy, surprisingly, the chunky lower legs are diecast as well. Giving Alt Eisen a feeling of heft and balance. Revolving Stake is also diecast Revolving Stake can be “reloaded”, sadly, it doesn’t come with a reloader or actual removable shells (unlike the Unifive figure). Action prop for Revolving Stake effect Comparison with the Unifive Banpresto Alt Eisen (SRC on the left, Unifive on the right) The Unifive Banpresto figure has a lot going for it. It has a display base (complete with hangar props), spring-released Square Claymore bays, spring-released shoulder wings, real working spring-released Revolving Stake with removable shells and a reloader cartridge. Plus the Unifive Banpresto figure is much more heavier (370 Grams) compared to the SRC version (230 Grams) However, the Super Robot Chogokin figure has one critical advantage over the Unifive and that’s awesome poseability and sturdier joints. The Unifive Banpresto figure had a lot of bad press about how weak the joints were and how its leg joints were prone to break from simple posing. With that said, I have to say, at the end of it all, the extra gimmicks are nice but it’s how tough sturdy and resilient the joints are what really counts. If I had to choose one, given that both have decent amounts of diecast, I would most likely recommend the SRC figure. Action Poses Gold

Thanks Qb. Gorgeous pictures! Nicely done! Those Decobacks really give a lot of added dimension to posing toys. Kudos man! Gold

Just wondering.... for those with SRC Mazinger Z, were the joints loose right off the bat? I found it a lil annoying that the shoulder joint, waist joint and the ball joint connecting the right leg were a quite loose OOTB. Not sure if this is something that's just on mine or if it's a common problem with all SRC Mazingers. Didn't experience this with Great Maz....

How loose? As in floopy with zero resistance? Mine was ok, roughly similar to the SHF Figures.

A bit floppy on the shoulder joints and that right leg ball joint. Tolerable but a bit annoying to pose. Anyway, posted pics of mine here.
