Hmm.. that's strange. Hit or miss QC problem? SRC God Reideen and Brave Reideen are out: blog.livedoor.jp/hacchaka/archives/51622392.htmlhima-toy.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2010/12/src_godreideen-.htmlThanks to Gt3ian over at Robotjapan for the links. For those curious about God Reideen, he's from Reideen the Superior (Chouja Reideen) and actually is the enemy. The God Reideen was created by the ancestors of the Reideens used to seal away the Super Demon race, it's resurrected in modern day and under the control of the Super Demon Lushu and devastates Shinjuku and several other major cities. There are episodes up on Youtube, it appears in Episode 25 (total series run was 38 episodes), but you can piece together the plot so far by just watching episode 26 to 29. The God Reideen reappears again in the final 2 episodes of the show (set a year after episode 29) with the intent of destroying the Earth, to purge all "evil". Just an example of God Reideen in action Episode 26 (part 1 of 3), English subtitled. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhMxd79xB4o&feature=relatedGod Reideen changes from white to black in the final episode (ep 38. LOL, possible a SRC repaint?) www.youtube.com/watch?v=5odrVvfFCYUGold

just got my src maz, great maz, and reideen from hlj. i must say, i'm certainly warming up to this new line, even just by looking at the excellent packaging. the heft of the items (particularly given its proportion to the size) and the chrome paint jobs also receive high marks in my book. i opened the reideen box to take a peek (haven't removed him from the plastic tray) and i am almost certain that the upper torso, groin area and the entire lower legs are diecast. ;D i'm also quite pleased with the size of the toys, though they may seem small to other soc collectors.

Mazinkaiser SKL's out. Along with the Blu Ray pack-in. For those not familiar with the story here's the background. --------- Prior to the events of the anime, the three factions – the Garan Army, the Kiba Army, and the Hachiryokaku (Aira Army), battle for total dominance of an unnamed island which they occupy. The island is basically a prison, isolated from the rest of the world. To assure total quarantine, a “Gravity Curtain” was formed within the island. Only machines created by the worldwide government WSO are capable of entry to the island. The island also contains vast amount of resources, allowing the three factions to create a near-limitless supply of giant robots for their respective armies. The WSO has learned that the Gravity Curtain has reached an unstable status and will explode within 66 hours, destroying all of Earth and human life itself. Each of the three factions controls a part of the mechanism responsible for the Gravity Curtain. Knowing the danger of disabling the Gravity Curtain and combating the three factions, the WSO decides to send the Skull Force. The Skull Force is divided into two squadrons – one of which is the 2 member-only Death Caprice Squad, comprised of Ken Kaido and Ryo Magami, pilots of the Mazinger named MazinKaizer SKL….. ------------------- Taken from this site: www.animetake.com/mazinkaiser-skl-episode-1/Gold

Thanks Gold! Thankfully, our friendly neighborhood fansubbers are there so we can still enjoy Mazinkaiser SKL. On a related topic, are there any news regarding the Kiba Striker that was first posted along with Dendoh last year? How about the 7th Data Weapon, Fire Phoenix and the sword that all 7 weapons combine into? (Sorry, dunno the name of the sword... )

Yeah I was wondering what happened to the Kiba Striker too. No idea what the final sword weapon was named I don' think they ever called it out in the show. I got the SRC Dendoh's last week, still doing the images but I though I'd post this first FATAL FLAW ALERT!!!Be careful when swapping out the fists!!! The internal pegs are very, very weak. I'm not 100% sure if this actually snapped off or what ( I don't see the bits anywhere though) but I assume I broke the peg off Dendoh's left fist. Without even putting too much pressure into it too. Be careful. If given the choice you might want to just leave the default fists in. As is, the peg on mine is broken(?) but it can still be returned and holds well enough thanks to the socket design for the wrist cuff.( so the fists doesn't fall out or anything). Still, it's d**n annoying. Gold

Oh really? Just got Dendoh last week too. So far, I've been swapping out the hands at my leisure and the pegs have been fine but will take extra care when doing the swap. Here's a shot of my Dendoh:

Good to hear your Dendoh is ok, QB, great pic! Heerosan, thanks!!! I can't wait for the GGG crew! I hope it brings about renewed interest in Braves (so they can also release a new series and ending to the GGG storyline ) Here's a quick look at Super Robot Chogokin Gear Fighter Dendoh and Knight Star Ogre Series Opening Credits (Click to begin playback) When Dendoh is powered down, his face guard is down. Bandai included an extra head for this. They also included an extra face plate for “gritting teeth” expressions, though you can’t really see the expression that well. Also be careful with the points on his face guard, they are VERY sharp!! Dendoh first encounter. Clear effects parts (identical for both Dendoh and Ogre) Dendoh stands roughly 5.75” tall. Weighs roughly 150 Grams (much heavier than SRC Mazinger Z). Metal Parts for both Dendoh and Ogre are the same, only in the silver parts of the arms and legs and core sections of the torso. Extendable joints in the waist, mid torso and crotch make the figure more poseable. Thruster parts. “Battery Cell”, too bad there aren’t any removable batteries. Without the Data Weapons, Dendoh initially fought using special techniques. Data Weapon - Unicorn Drill Data weapons clip onto the metal parts on the forearms. Enter: Knight Ogre Similar to Dendoh, Ogre also has mostly the same parts and accessories. “Battery cell” Thrusters Spare face plate (with gritting teeth) and face guard open head. Clear “effects” parts Data Weapon. Viper Whip “Whip” parts Yep, Dendoh got his gear fighter butt whupped twice by Ogre. but by the end, the pilot of the Ogre shook off his brainwashing and the Ogre was piloted by Hokuto, while Ginga continued piloting the Dendoh solo. Last but not least, Bandai threw in an online survey form (I blotted out the code on mine, sorry. ) it’s nice to know they’re actually interested in the consumer response (took them only what, 10 years to get it started? LOL ) Funfact : In one episode, Dendoh lost all of it’s Data Weapons, as a result, Dendoh had to rely on “back up weapons”. If you’re an Anime Fan, you’ll pick up from which popular Anime the weapons are based on Gold

nice review Gold! and thanks for the video references! i count Gundam, Reideen, Combattler V/Voltes V and Getter Robo as some of the influences for the back up weapons used. btw, wasn't it Hokuto who piloted Ogre and Ginga who remained with Dendoh? I remember that Ogre used Unicorn Drill in the latter part of the series and that's Hokuto's Data Weapon.
