Yea. P850 now, the ordinary one is at P670 as I recall. But it's still cheaper than the suggested retail price of Y2400.

I recall the sales lady asking me the price was about at that price when I was about to pay but I argued that it's written P810 at the back of the card so I won the argument. ;D
I have small tip, don't use the outer part of the cutter for cutting thick sprues and instead, use the innermost part, use only tip for cutting thin gates. Also never use it to cut wires or anything not from model kits.

heh, I tried to get the price reduced but no luck. Maybe they learned from their mistake and wrote a big 850 in front now. = P
As for the cutting, I use my regular industrial cutter to cut the thick sprues from the runners then use the Tamiya one to clean it up.
Anyway, I noticed that it started to rain often these past few days. Don't spray paint during those times. The paint will dry differently, specially chrome ones.

I have tip for using topcoat (flat/matt), don't spray it too close or else your model will lose it's colors! It happened to one of my models and boy did I cry for almost 10 minutes. In the end I repainted the affected parts and it's ok now. lessoned learned: spray top coat at least 20 to 30 cms from the model. hope that helps. peace!

but when i tried it on my ail strike i almost ruined it! the top coat was so white on the strike pack (the red and black segments were ruined!). i think the problem you encounter was -- it's either you top spraypainted it on a cold weather. or you didn't warm up the can or you didn't shake it very well.
to avoid those:
1. spraypaint/airbrush the kits under the hot sun. don't spray or paint on a cold and rainy day. 2. if you're using spraypaint cans, even on a hot day, warm up the can in a warm water for about 5-10mins. then shake it very well. 3. spray the kit 6 to 8 inches away from the can.
hope that helps.

hope that helps. thanks for the update. I think what caused the problem was because of the distance. I may have sprayed it toooooooooooo close to my aile strike. i remembered when i sprayed my freedom it was really far from the model. i know that tamiya spray paint uses lacquer while top coat is acrylic. is that an issue also?

mistakes? i see... mine is on the modeling part... when painting(spray paint), be sure to spray indoors.. or rather if not indoors, put up some covers and sorround the parts that will be painted so that air will not penetrate.. (air makes the paint bubble).. and also don't spray too close or else you'll ruin the parts by thickening the paint... be sure to put on mask. why? paint is toxic. and also, if you'll be removing paint, don't use too much thinner or rather a thinner because it will melt the plastic..

don't use too much thinner or rather a thinner because it will melt the plastic.. What thinner would do that? For the time your working on a model using paint thinner, you won't see any damage. But there is damage being done in the molecular level. It will only be experienced after a few years, the thinner will react with the oils in the plastic and make it brittle. Thus in the end you will encounter a peg or a small part breaking off easily even without effort because of this. So Use Thinner sparingly. In all these years what I learned is that never leave a model kit surface untreated with clear gloss or matte. (I don't usually paint white plastics before.) Why? Because the glue (I use Tamiya) will eventually yellow and all exposed untreated plastic (specifically white) around it will be affected. Now I finish my kits (with white plastic) with a top coat.
