hmm i'll start... i just built my astray red frame... the red frame has some small parts that are bit brittle. i used my plastic cutter and cut the tip of the plastic. *snap* broke the darn piece..
*note to myself* when cutting small parts cut the sprue outline with scissors. then thats the time you use the plastic cutter. this normally happens to the v-fins and small parts...

MG V fins are very thin. thus very prone to breakage.

I mentioned this in my Collection/WIP thread and in another thread but i'll reiterate. Never use Tamiya Basic Putty to fill large gaps or holes in your kits. It will eat the plastic. I filled the spaces in my FAZZ's feet thinking to make them a bit heavier but ended up with a depression in the tops of the toes. Good thing I was able to fix it. ;D

got a simple tip especially for newbies like me....have a second look before you snap...it sucks to pull apart an assembly to put in a small piece you have missed...plus there is a risk of damaging the connecting pegs....

dont do any modeling when you feel that your sleepy, managed to cut my finger when i wanted to finish my kit while feeling a bit sleepy , (it was an instant wake up call though ;D) and do your modeling with bright lights, it can help you in detailing your kit, whether in building, cutting, painting, etc ;D

mine was with mr. Acguy.. had a very small part and wanted to cut it nicely... i was traumatized before while doing my kampfer and cut my finger twice, now i was using tweezers to hold it... next thing i knew, i was holding it too tight and it went soaring over my head behind me towards the back of my pc table *AAAHHHHHH!!!* i had to crawl under the table with flashlight to find that darn small thing! *cough! cough! freaking dust*
lesson learned: use fingers rather than tweezers ~__~

one more thing....when cutting off tiny parts like the polycaps from the sprue or tree, hold that part and not the sprue...it will fly off and you'll end up spending 15 minutes bonding with ur bedroom floor!
fast building tip: use a nailcutter it works faster, just make sure it's sharp and cuts cleanly...safer than an open blade cutter and cheaper than those bandai or tamiya made cutters...
