@ carlo pogi: when the plastic is in the brake fluid, it softens. after i cleaned it, it became hard but not as hard as it was originally. whoa! thats scary, after you cleaned it, is it soft like, for example a C2 plastic bottle? its hard but when you put force onto it, it bends, but it still goes back to its original shape, (unless you run it over a car of course ;D) or is it even softer than that?

not like a C2 bottle plastic. more like how soft a beam saber blade is.

not as soft as rubber though. it hardens again with time but i think it never regained the same hardness as before i put it in the brake fluid.

carlopogi: The shine is gone mainly because of chemical reaction. Some palstics tend to suck the paint. You will eventually strip the paint but not all of it will be gone. There will be parts that will have stains and it will never come off. @delta: Maybe you used a different kind of brake fluid? I used Prestone dot 3 and the plastic never softened.

That's probably the reason why it softened Daycot. I have not used brake fluid since that time and i'm using other paint remover solutions.

is it soft enough for you to remold the plastic to whatever shape you like? ;D not as soft as rubber though. it hardens again with time but i think it never regained the same hardness as before i put it in the brake fluid.

@ snap: not THAT soft. hehehe @ neodark: water isn't going to mix with brake fluid since brake fluid is oil-based.

@ delta408- awww. i thought i could mold it by hand like clay... im making my own beam sabers kasi from clear plastic sprues... if i sand them they are clear but not glossy, sorta like hot burning effect na.

hmm... what if you run the transparent sprue you're working on very quickly through a lighter flame? maybe it will make it glossy again? Just a suggestion but i have no idea if it will work. better try it on a "Test" transparent sprue that you sanded
