Macross: Do You Remember Love



After the successful return of the SDF-1 Macross on Earth, a Meltrandi Battleship defolds and sends out troops to invade the recently uncovered Protoculture ruins. In response, the Macross sends out the Skull Squadron to repel the attacks. Leading them is the newly appointed Skull Leader Maximilian Jenius, who succeeded Roy Focker after his death. Max pilots a new VF-1S and uses it to pit his skills against the Meltrandi ace Miria Fallyna in one of the most recognized dogfights of the Macross universe.

Here's yet another re-shoot of one (if not) of my best buys this year. I'm took some photos of the internal details of the Super Parts which are included with the Yamato 1/48 VF-1J Maximilian Jenius. I really salute Yamato for having this great attention to looks and detail and I opted to display mine this way right now, in a hangar configuration without any weapons. I will display one in Fighter mode when get my hands on the 1/60 v.2 of the VF-1J Max.

A cheap haul last week, a Jollibee Kiddie Meal toy of Maximilian Jenius' VF! Features a firing missile and transformable to half-Gerwalk mode!

I decided to retake some photos of my Yamato 1/60 v.2 VF-1S Max in Fighter mode, this time with a more show-accurate presentation equipped with four missile pods on its wings just like how it appeared on Max's dogfight agains Miria Fallyna.

Yamato 1/60 v.2 VF-1A Maximilian Jenius

The Super Dimension Fortress Macross

Maximilian Jenius was one of the new pilots assigned under Hikaru Ichijo's Vermilion Squadron alongside Hayao Kakizaki. In their first sortie to defend the Macross, Max piloted a VF-1A Valkyrie with white and blue hull paint, with the latter becoming the trademark color of his VFs all throughout the Macross universe. Max immediately showed his natural ace skills as a VF pilot, much to the amazement of Hikaru and Kakizaki. Max also proved his skills as he disguised his VF-1A in a Zentradi uniform to infiltrate a Zentradi ship and rescue the captured Hikaru, Kakizaki and Misa Hayase. Furthermore, Max used his VF-1A in a battle against Milia Fallyna, the ace of the Laplamiz fleet. He managed to severely damage her Queadluun-Rau and prompted her to flee, proving that his true ace skills can be shown even in a mass-production type Valkyrie.

Really happy to have bought this on a 40% off sale at HLJ and yesterday I decided to get the Yamato Valkyrie stand as well for more photo possibilities. Many fans think that this is one of the most dull Valkyries in terms of appearance but I find this still very special considering it is the Valkyrie where Max proved that he's a true ace and he only needed a VF-1A to kick more ass than anyone else in the Macross universe.
