Decided to make a new slideshow for one of my Valkyries... this time the 1/60 v.2 VF-1A Max Jenius TV version. Thanks for watching!

Yet another slideshow. This time the Yamato 1/60 v.2 VF-1S Maximilian Jenius custom with the theme "Dog Fighter", the very same music played in his fight against Milia Fallyna from Macross: Do You Remember Love.

And here's another haul which I shot with a "DecoBack Space" for the background. It's also my first venture into Bandai's Robot Spirits toyline and also my first Macross Frontier purchase:

Now, you might be wondering why only 7 pictures were taken. It's because I find the toy a little too "fiddly" with the backpack and all and I find it a little hard posing with a Tamashii stage because there seems to be no place for the clamp to hold the figure. My other gripe is that there's a lot of things to watch out for, especially the head lasers and other protruding parts that might break. Nonetheless, I love the appeal of this figure and it doesn't lack that much detail as I used to think. It's extremely posable as well. I'd recommend it to Macross fans though I'd suggest you wait for the sale since the going price here doesn't justify the fun you'd get. I'd probably rate this with a 7 out of 10.

The good thing about the Max Jenius figure is that it fits into the cockpit of the Yamato Queadluun-Rau, which leads us to my next haul for the week.

After his deadly duel against Milia Fallyna, Maximilian Jenius was believed to be lost after the battleship they were fighting folded away. But as Lynn Minmay begins to sing and a confusion broke through the warring Zentran and Meltran forces, we see Max fly once again, as a Macronized human inside a Queadluun-Rau Battle Suit alongside Milia Fallyna in their respective blue and red mecha colors.

I got this one at a very good price and I think it's really a fun toy. It's big and full of details, but it does lack in the articulation part. I find the gimmick to fit the Max figure also a plus (even if you have to take off some body parts for him to fit in LOL).

Anyway, might as well plug in some more shots of my VF-1A Max TV ver. and VF-1S Max taken indoors with DecoBack Space and Sky respectively.

It's not really on my top list. I'd rather get the soon to be released VF-1A Max DYRL that's bundled with the Super Parts or even a VF-1S Hikaru. Thanks for looking bro!

After Diamond Force's VF-17 Nightmare Valkyries were reassigned to protecting City 7, the Macross 7 military has launched a new set of variable fighters for their elite force, codenamed "Emerald Force". Emerald Force consists of the newly produced VF-19 "Blazer Valkyrie" which were the direct improvements of the YF-19 which won the Project Super Nova competition for the UN Spacy's next main variable fighter. Emerald Force was commanded by Lt. Docker (who was a former Diamond Force member who recovered from a Protodeviln attack thanks to the music of Fire Bomber) and was constantly deployed up to the end of the Protodeviln War.

Here's some thing I made as well, a slideshow of the toy with the song "Planet Dance" from Macross 7. Enjoy!

Anyway, here are some things I find about the toy:

Good:
- Lots of accessories. The toy is loaded with accessories from gunpod, hands, the missiles for the legs, a better looking head for Battroid mode, its own display stand, and much more. Just make sure you do have some nails when you open this toy since you need to pry out some stuff.
- Transformation. While it does require some minor parts swapping, the transformation is very convenient and more on the fun side. Besides the wings, you don't get much floppy parts while going from mode to mode.
- Size. I believe the size of this toy is pretty good and fun to handle and still manages to catch attention on display without eating up your living space.
- Price. Well, I think the good part about this toy (and the line per se) is that it's fairly priced for its size and gimmicks. While it might not be as grand as Yamato's masterpieces at least you're paying like 1/3 or 1/2 of their going prices. It satisfies the saying "you get what you pay for" even more if you get it on discounted prices.

Not good:
-Landing gear. They're pretty much cradles so unless you use the base where they are meant to attach to, you're VF-19S is basically on its belly. I wish Bandai came up with a way to attach landing gears on the plane that need not depend on the base for display. I guess the landing gear idea was really an afterthought on their part.
-Gun pod on Fighter mode. Like other collectors said, it's like an eagle without its talons. While I know Bandai had to include an adaptor for the Fire Valkyrie's gun pod, they didn't seem to have added that for the Blazer Valkyrie. I would have really loved a gun pod attach to Fighter mode even if it's only applicable without the stand.

Might be good or bad:
-Looks. While this one rocks big time in Fighter mode, the Battroid mode seems to lack the chunk of the line art design. Now this would vary from person to person. I think the Battroid still looks pretty mean even without that chunk from the line art. You be the judge.

All in all, I think this is a great toy. I'm really a happy customer and I wish that Bandai would continue to produce awesome stuff like this and I would gladly follow this line (except for the VF-1 units most likely). Seeing that they already have a YF-21 prototype, I'm really looking forward to Bandai releasing the YF-19 as well. Hands down a really fun toy for me. I believe the Macross 7 mechas deserve much more love and Bandai is really making it possible.
