Well, I find these toys really neat in some way. They don't really have superb articulation, and the leg posability of the VF-19A is really limited. But what I like about these figures is that the build is solid and the plastic quality is really good. The paint is very well applied too. I think the ball joints might loosen with excessive play, though. In the end, I won't really recommend these items unless you're getting them at a major bargain.

I intend to use the Fold Booster for the VF-22S to replicate its very first appearance in Macross 7's 44th episode. Pics of Fighter mode to come soon. Not sure yet about Gerwalk and Battroid since the transformation was quite tedious.

VF-22S Sturmvogel II Max Jenius

In the later part of the Protodeviln War, the Macross 7 military has been authorized to use the illegal reaction weaponry to destroy the Protodeviln. Commander Maximilian Jenius devised a plan called "Operation Stargazer," where small units of Valkyries will enter the Protodeviln planet and rush to Polar Star, the cave where the Protodeviln bodies are in hiding. As the forces began to deplete, Max decided to once again jump into a Valkyrie's cockpit to deliver the reaction weapon on his own. Max flies on the "Blue Gazer," a VF-22S Sturmvogel II bearing his trademark blue color scheme. While Operation Stagazer suffered casualties and didn't succeed, Max would once again fly on the Blue Gazer in the final chapter of the Protodeviln War alongside Miria's red VF-22S.

And of course, a slideshow of it with "Holy Lonely Night" as the BGM.

First of all, I never bothered to take photos of Gerwalk and Battroid modes due to some problems I had with the tedious transformation and some stability issues for Battroid. Nonetheless, I'm very happy with the acquisition of this item. The VF-22S is big, it's even bigger than a 1/48 VF-1 toy. There were a few disadvantages to this such as the guns requiring to be stowed away (no, you can't have them on the belly like the YF-21), but the overall impact and presence of this on the toy display more than makes up for it.

VF-22S Sturmvogel II Miria Fallyna Jenius

With Battle 7 destroyed and the Protodeviln War looking to be against the Macross 7 fleet's side, Max Jenius sortied on his VF-22S to fight against Goram and Zomd. In this midst of battle, Max was surprised when Miria contacted him and assisted him. Miria was seen piloting a red VF-22S Sturmvogel alongside Max, reconciling their relationship and fighting once again with their blue and red Valkyries until Geperunitch was defeated by Basara.

As with the Max variant, I only took pictures of this in Fighter Mode due to the tedious transformation process. I somewhat noticed that the Miria variant seems to be more flawed as I have seen a few parts that won't sit flush with each other as opposed to Max's which is just perfect.

Nonetheless, it's an awesome display piece.
This is my first step to expanding my Macross collection and it's also my first non-Max unit from Yamato.
