kirayamnato - when you buy the rights, you aren't imitating anymore. you have the "right" to use the established name, characters, etc.
clowz - the "showdown with the monster at the end" wont work with zaido coz zaido is a daily drama, it isnt a weekly kids show like shaider was. i think it's more fair to say zaido was a reformatted version of shaider. it's a kid's show turned into a drama.
take smallville, it's basically superman but it became a teen drama series and you dont see super villains or superheroes in costumes.

i dig zaido a bit but i don't watch it...i'm so wierd! hehe. i just watch the commercials and make storylines in my head until the next commercial

Zaido is "ok" judging by GMA prime time show standards. But that's what bugs me about it. I still wish they stayed true w/ the Shaider story pacing, and it would have been nice if the had like 1 new villain that has to be defeated in every episode. Zaido is just too dramatized IMHO I 100% totally agree man, I mean why can't they just stick with the basic formula that works as far as tokusatsu adventure shows are concerned. 1 villain per episode, Introduce a new power or upgrade in the suit every 5 episodes or more, have a multiple storyline big deal battle for the next 10 episodes that follows, introduce a new cool character, have them team up for the next episodes, I mean I could go on and on with all the cool stuff that they should be doing... The problem is, they are always focusing on the LOVE ANGLEs and SOAP OPERA Sh*^&^&#$%t. They are all clueless. I wish theyd just hire me and I bet well do a lot of cool stuff with a lot of original shows. Any producers out there? |

daywalker: look at giehar's explanation why zaido can't have 1 villain per episode. his post is somewhere on page 6. i totally agree with him. since zaido is daily, not weekly like shaider, the 1 villain per episode won't work. they could however make 1 villain per week so it would be like a weekly villain thing just like shaider back then. i also think that they incorporate drama or love stuff since the show ain't marketed to just the kids. they want to market it to as many audience types as possible to boost ratings

Daily show or weekly show, it doesn't really matter. It is not an excuse to have storylines that suck. Smallville might have turned into a teen drama with no costumed superheroes but still they have interesting stories and special effects. Stories that make sense and don't insult your intelligence.
The writers and the producers of these shows are the ones to blame really. They have zero creativity sad to say.

I read somewhere that CH 2 would do a remake of Maskman!
