Paint on the AB or on the Kit? If it is to clean you're AB, Lacquer paint, is lacquer thinner(duh!) Industrial type, not the super expensive synthetic one. On enamel, my suggestion is, don't try it on an AB, Enamel paints are somewhat gooey, and it might clogged your AB. But if you're looking for cheap alternative to Tamiya Enamel thinner, you can use Zippo lighter fluid. It should do the trick. ;D If you're trying to strip paint on your kit, for lacquer, I don't suggest you use the thinner, it will easily eat thru your kit, unless it's the uber expensive synthetic thinner. You can try normal break fluid to strip the lacquer paint, but do not use it on ABS plastic parts, because it will eat through it. For enamel, you can still use the Zippo lighter fluid.

how about denatured alcohol? i know that it's nice to thin acrylics but i haven't tried it for laquers i use 91% alcohol for Tamiya acrylics. For Gunze acrylics i use their own gunze thinner. I read somewhere that gunze paints works better with gunze thinner. totoo naman. ;D

i keep reading that double action ABs are better than single action ones. what do they mean exactly by better?? i'm confused at the technical explanations...

you can control the amount of paints coming out from the nozzle with double action ABs. it's way better when doing some detail spraying.
