MAX WATANABE STYLE OF PAINTING ???

i almost forgot about this thread. ^ ^
here are the shots of my MAX style Gundam OYW.
Think the shading effect comes out quite nice on these photo me think. -_-;

So did anyone who asked how to do it manage to do it? Can you please explain how it is done? Am a bit of a numbnuts on understanding the translation eh. I just spray my airbrush the way I want to eh. Paturo naman

Step by step means with explanation right not just pictures. let's say for the first picture you see a black thingy then next we have a not so black thingy then next is a little white but still black thingy. Kindly explain to us oh mr lord of gunpla modelling lend us your wisdom ;D ;D ;D

hmmm... my japanese is a little bit rusty. please check kung tama pagkaintindi ko. ;D

1. first put a flat black spray undercoat color evenly over the part to be painted.
2. second, start spray highlight color on a middle parts of flat sections.
3. third, from middle area, spread color toward edges of panels, but do not paint edges completely,
allow black undercoat to show thru.
4. to finish, spray lightly over whole part. do not make color even.

pede na kaya akong mag-translate nang anime better than the bad HK/taiwan copies.

Thanks, dj898! It really helps a lot! I need that for the white parts to show-off shadings. After I prepare my working area this weekend, i'll try pre-shading, that's cool!

I d/l the scan copy of the article on HJ some years back. In it they used SD Gundam to paint in MAX style. I will see whether I can dig that one up again...
