christie, raven, lili and ganryu player here. only use lili and ganryu now though. raven sucks in dr. never had a character go higher than 4th dan though.  lost all my orig cards and my new raven and ganryu cards are still 1st dan, lili is 4th. no more card for christie after i lost 3 of em in a row  where do you guys play? |

I mostly play in Alabang Town Center and Glorietta but I just do it whenever I pass by, I'm not the kind of Tekkenista who keeps challenging everyone sitting in the arcade.
Baek 4th kyu here. Also bought a Raven card for 5.1, needs some practice before stepping to DR. Wrong move on my Baek card, I didn't used it on 5.1, so no free colors. dang.

If you renew your card....your win loss ratio will reset back to 0 right?.....malapit na kasi maubos card ko...
I think its more important to keep the W/L ratio...than the rank...
im experiencing losses and draws na....many tekkenites now know my fighting style hehe...

What I know is if you UPGRADE your card (i.e. using your data card from 5.1 to tekken DR) that's when you go back to 0 w/0 L but some stuff get carried over like customizations and money. Though I think you get reset to 1st dan for those who were above 1st dan in the 5.1 game.
Renewing card is the one where you purchase another card when you run out of play counts.

after taking a lot of losses..haha got negated na...
i switched styles..i learned the uses of Drag's 2 counter-grab moves (can't be chickened) and the punch parry (can't be chickened din)
if you got tackled and the opponent starting to ground and pound you..just try to block one punch...instant reversal to a triangle lock (hehe gulat ako nun)
overall IMO Drag is not your "instant win char."ala paul and other hard hitters, and your "Pretty boy/girl mix-up char." like Jin, Hwoa, Baek...you know em naman...
Drag i lacking in low moves...(sobra, you can count it on your fingers lang)
It takes a lot of skill to learn him...frames charts are BS for me...i rely on instinct cuz it makes you a better fighter and makes your fight worth it hehe...
also master the tackle reverse...(yung papalit palit ng mount hehe) it makes the fight intense if goes on and on....
well..thats my review...sorry..just bored here at work...hekhekhek
i don't fight cheap...i just make the match beautiful hehehe...well..if im going to lose..time to go cheap! hehehe..

I only play Tekken 5 DR sparingly at Glorietta or Megamall. Don't use cards masyadong mahal. I also don't attempt to challenge top players kasi I'm not really that good. Baka mapahiya lang ako. I mostly play Jin or Devil Jin, sometimes Lili or heihachi.
anyway, it's a bummer that only the psp gets DR, and not the ps2. Do any of you own a psp and DR? Is it really good? Where's the best place to buy a very cheap PSP and DR?

drags move is more of cheap shots and pressure ala bryan... also his counter, b+1+3 or b+2+4 _can_ be chickened. It already happend to me. drag's low are slow and can be seen a mile away but theres the cancel to a grab for smoke and mirror tricks. but high level players can detect this and counter into a launcher. i only use the d/b+3 when i know my opponent is going for a high, thus a counter hit into a leg grab.
drag is more on pressure strings, b+4, 2, 1 or b+2, 1, or d/f+1, or b+3, 1, or 1, 3 and if you can get b+1+2 in, its good since it guard break, your in +frames and in advantage. wel you get the idea...
i mainly uses lili due to her speed and mind tricks. Drag's my 2nd in line and use it for fun game. Currently my drag is 4th dan and lili is 7th dan.

but i agree with you b+4,2,1 is so spammable and does great damage if all are hit...
i rarely do the d/f+2 aka "dan forden uppercut" (parang mortal kombat hehe) poor recovery if blocked...and the opponent can return strikes...
Drag's only weakness IMO is fighting chracters with the EWGF ability....and the famous 1,1,2 of Kazuya...
I heard drag has a "secret" move...errr..sana may silbi naman....

i dont spam b+4,2,1 with good players here... the 1 _can_ and _will_ be ducked by experienced players... as well as b+2, 1 ... safest moves you can do is d/f+1, d/f+4, u/f+3, d/f+3 against mishimas, oh, if timed properly you can counter ewgf. f+4, 4_d+4 has also nice recovery for pressure.
whats nice with b+4,2,1 is if CH, all three goes in putting up 40+ damage, i think it was 50.. not sure.. with b+2, 1, if the 1st hits, 2nd one goes in also. its a NC.
d/f+2 is good but prob, as you said, is its lousy recovery. the only thing people can punish are jab strings and quick d/f+2 launchers.
secret move? never heard :lol:

yep i fought a drag player din a few days ago....the 1 in b+4,2,1 can be reversed hehe...
after that...he didn't use it again hehehe...
f+4?....its kinda slow imo...but gives a nice slight pushback...

@ chaoz and delta So is SM safe for tekken players now? I used to play tekken before but after getting almost K.O.ed outside the mall I never played again. Lost my interest then. I cant believe that some people would take this game too far.  |
