any tekken players? I just started to get hooked up into the arcade craze. So I can't say I'm not that good, because compared to those who've been playing since TTT and T4, I'm really a newbie.
btw my favorite characters are Baek and Raven, I have a Tekken 5 DR IC card for baek, has the Kamadoma name, though it's just got a crappy record of 12 w / 3 losses and majority of those wins are taken from noobs, the 3 losses are very honorable defeats from pros.
I can say is, I can beat noobs or guys who might have same rate of experience in playing in the arcades with me.
But against those pros who've been playing and have lots of experience I'm really not up to it. They can even beat me with PERFECT. ;D

Me im a Tekken Player all my life it was way back since the glory days of PSOne and also Tekken 1 up till now hehehe .... I usually use Heihachi, Paul Phoenix, Law, and Kazuya. I usually play it always on my PS2. When my friend usually challenge me to a Tekken duel i usually beat him always 30 wins to 2 loses my record so far was 50 wins to 1 naaasar na nga friend ko sa akin eh hehehe pero when my other barkada challenge me to a Tekken he is a pro we are only tied ...
I rarely played in the arcades i usually suck using an arcade joystick but when you give me a PS2 controller lets bring it on mas sanay ako gumamit ng PS2 controller kaysa sa arcade. When i play in the arcade i only used Law and Paul Phoenix because they are the only one who are easy to use in the arcade very cheesy indeed but when i grab hold of a PS2 controller i can play any characters and beat the hell out of the computer in a hard mode hehehe ..... ;D ;D

In the PS2 ver, I can get 16 wins at hard mode. I use Ling Xiao Yu( ;D) easy to get on with, but usually I use Jin (didn't you notice how is power levels has been drastically reduced?)

i also play tekken, have Data card for Lili and Xiao ;D though i just had my lili card last week... 2 wins / 0 loses *pif*, my xiao had more wins %, 80W/18L I prefer arcade when playing competitively, ps2 is combo training and move property testing my personal preference, i dont use characters most people use(jin, kaz, paul, feng, raven) well except bryan... ;D he's one mean dude... fast and good mid and high attacks. punch counter... nasty juggles ;D ;D ;D my favorite: taunt canceling! weeee! ;D my characters: Lili, Bryan, Xiaoyu, Dragonuv(still learning) Raven was cheap in tekken 5, imho, low sweep, overhead heal, low sweep again... rince repeat... hayz.... takes almost half your life per set... good thing we can now block while rolling. T5:DR Raven is alost the same, at least 2 new moves, if memory serves me right Dark Ressurection for PS2 wont be out *yet*, just like what they did with tekken tag, arcade first then w8 6 or more months then release the ps2 version, i think

I also use Raven, I just love his wall hit, though I've read that he was quite toned down by DR. One more prob for me is the arcade stick, but I'm trying to practice whenever I play, since practice is my only way to get used to the arcade controllers. ;D Though since I wanna practice alone, I try to play just when malls just opened, don't wanna have a gang of guys challenging me. And speaking of practice, though I maybe having good combos for the PS2, I cannot simply apply them since the arcade machine is different coz you're a lot closer to the screen, very different if you play in a Ps2 several feet away. btw I've got some combos which are very common with baek, though now I've seen (even in videos) that it's not all juggle and combos, it's also diskarte (that's why I don't use much juggles now, though I practice them in arcade so that when time comes I get to launch an opponent, I can do the juggle well.) www.youtube.com/?v=cO1FGdi1TiUwww.youtube.com/?v=al2rWThlt5Awww.youtube.com/?v=hT2qgQfIe6kI like to finish my baek combos with f~4 rather than the f~1+2, 4 since one button is easier, but the timing is more crucial otherwise I can't hit the opponent btw Chaoz do u know any baek players? got any setups or combos to recommend? ;D

yup i know one baek player here in cebu... he has nice strings and setups plus fakes to boot... d*mn i cant even retaliate right away without risking being CH... he start up with something like low kick then high kick strings then cancels, do another version, cancels, use 1 or 2 hands jabs then do another fast strings... its hard to read his movements at all... launchers.. he uses the d/f+2 hand launcher, and the kick combo, i cant say... i dont use baek at all, so i dont know his command lists... seing you vids, id say you had the same combo, different enders, but the same regarding your last vid, he was able to do 3 of those kicks befor landing f+1+2, 4 ;D

ahh, that's the 3+4 to flamingo, quite hard to do. I think the low kick you said was the baek rush or the d+4,3,3,3 or d+4,3,3 d+3. that's one nice move, for last kick you can do a mid (powerful hit) or just the low poke, or do a flamingo stance then either go for a low sweep or the mid launcher (b+4) when you do the sweep successfully you can now then do another baek rush to juggle, then flamingo stance and as you follow him d+3,3,3... quite menacing once you get it. one problem with baek juggling for me is when I launch the opponent in the air, what I do is 1,2,3~f, 1,2,3~f, but then instead of just forward, I sometimes get the arcade stick a little down, making it d/f and thus ruining the juggle. btw I'm on 6th kyu, my first play with a DR card got me from beginner to 8th kyu, thanks to a noob King who kept challenging me and all he does is the 10 hit combo and the 3 low hits... whenever I see King do a jumping kick for his 10 hit I can parry the next low kick that he'll do. Then for 7th kyu there was a Korean whom I beated. To be exact, a korean kid (hahahahahhaa) and his bro who just bought a Hwoarang card and kept messing up 3 and 4 buttons. The bro got a 0w/2L and asked his sister to play too and told her to lose so he can have 1w/2L but then after that another pro challenged him and made him 1w/3L... The for 6th kyu was a Paul noob I challenged. Well you can say I'm a noob hunter, when a pro challenges me it's okay, I'm up for a fight, but as far as me challenging pros, it's a sure waste of 20 petot timezone load. Actually I can have a good game with raven for ps2 but since the arcade stick is different from the d-pad it's much harder for me to play since raven's got lots of weaving moves, and his f,f+3 juggles.

ahh thanks for the tips.... i was only able to beat him once and that was i was pressuring him too much and sidestepping like h*ll, one thing about baek i found was hes somewhat linear when he starts his strings but i could never tell which side to step when those legs starts working *pif* lucky you guys have competition there, tekken 5 DR in timezone here in cebu is like a empty parking lot... and rarely do people use cards here.. so its hard to pass 1st dan... my ling has been 1st dan for a whole year! sheesh!!! i can go toe to toe with raven players here... but i usualy stop and dont play them if they resort to using those cheap strings i mentioned earlier.. takes the fun out of playing if you abuse them... ;D arcade sticks are fine but i cant get those uppercuts from kaz (f, d, d/f + 2) instantly out, so i stopped using kaz, or any char that has them, in arcades, but not on ps2. ;D

Chaoz lol there's lots of teams here. I went to megamall early to try out the cheaper DR there (6 petot per token, 1 token per game) but then there're so many pros, there was this guy who had the player 2 taped, then when I played in player1 someone took off the tape and beated me. there're so many moves that can be done out of the d+4,3,3 after the low kick and axe kick, baek can either do a mid hit, a low hit, or simply flamingo stance, which can, lead to another d+4,3,3 string, or a b+4 launcher, or a d/b+4 sweep, or the d/f+2 hand launcher, or flamingo and grab you. Dang even I don't know what to do if a baek guy challenges me. arch I know a friend whose teammate makes and sells arcades sticks of good quality, around 4k, but then... zoids first.

taped?! ; yah, there are a lot of moves with those strings.. im always forced to turtle and find openings in his strings... the low sweep from his stance is da*n annoying, its not those normal sweeps that comes out right away, it semi-delayed! thus making my parries come out too early... and eating the sweep...

yep, player 2 has a tape on the insert coin thingy. so I decided to wait the guy to finish, when I sat down, that same guy took of the tape and beated me.
as my friends say, baek's moves are quite linear too.
